Good site for small businesses to buy computer parts in bulk? I've been shopping at Newegg for a long time when I build computers for people, but lately my popularity has grown and I've been getting more and more customers. I could continue using Newegg, but I'm aware that a lot of OEM's get discounts from companies because they buy in bulk, thus allowing them to save money, charge less, and make more. How would one go about getting such discounts? Are there any sites that are directed towards OEM's? Most of the products on Newegg are charge retail price.

Where should I buy wholesale/OEM computer parts? My friend and I own a computer business and one service we offer is building custom system. I've looked online and I know that Newegg and NewBiiz are both very cheap, but I read a review a guy left for a processor and he said that since he was a professional system builder, he was able to get that processor for a fraction of the price. Another guy confirmed, saying he got it for 1/4 of the retail price. So my question is, where do I get wholesale/OEM parts that are drastically cheaper (i.e. more than 15%) off the retail price? Or how do we go about getting a professional system builder discount?
Live chat to get discounts on parts from Newegg? I've read on a couple of forums that if you do a live chat with Newegg's customer service you can convince them to give you free shipping or even a discount on items. I just purchased $930 in computer parts yesterday but I still need a case to put them in. Seems like a fair argument that a purchase that large warrants some sort of benefits right?! Plus I spent $1200 with them on my last build 5 years ago. Has anyone ever tried it? Do you think I'd have any luck asking for free shipping or something? The case I want was on sale for $70 free shipping last week and as soon as I put the cash in my bank account to buy, the price went up to $90 plus $20 shipping.. what a rip!

What's the best site for discounts on computer stuff for educators? Hi! I recently got a job working for a school district, and I hear there are websites which give educators discounts on hardware and software. What would you say are the best ones? If it makes a difference, I work in Pennsylvania. Also, I'm not a teacher - I work in the tech department as a webmaster (technically part time) Thanks!
vista on multiple computers? so, if i only have one vista key, and i install it on 2 computers... what will happen? will i just get those kind of annoying WGA warnings and thats it? or does it completely lock out the OS or some shit like that. what i am saying is : IF I INSTALL VISTA ON 2 MACHINES WHAT WILL HAPPEN? i AM going with vista, so don't tell me not to... and i am only doing so because i get a company discount on computer parts if i use vista for some kind of ad campaign (don't ask, i don't get it either) so i figured i might as well get the most out of the free copy and install it on my computer as well as my sisters. i know with XP, if you install off the same cd key, all you get is a little notice that says you are invalid. does it do the same in vista?
My car has been having trouble with the engine misfiring, 1997 mazda 626 v6? we boiled the trouble down to three problems, control module in the computer, plugs and wires, or firing sequence is mixed in the wires... Affordable Gaming Computer? I wanna buy a new gaming computer but my budget is 450-550$. What would you recommend? I was thinking about the AMD Quad Core Configurator from cyberpowerpc.com. My cousin works at tiger direct and he agreed to help me make the computer and he can get discounts on parts.
What parts would be good for a gaming desktop that can run any game at around 30 fps or better on a budget? I am working part time at a computer store and I am being paid $8.50 an hour, since I am working at a computer store the discount is whatever the store can buy the parts for plus shipping plus 10%, I have to pay for part of my car insurance which my mother wants me to pay $20 a month on that, on my first pay check I have to give my mom $72 for the work clothes she got me, and I have to put $50 in my savings from every paycheck too. I also end my job one week before school starts because I am only on a work experience program. I know that this is a lot of information but I hope all of that helps you guys in helping me figure this out.
My computer disappeared from a local repair shop.? It has been eight weeks since I dropped it off to have a simple software issue fixed. I was understanding at first because they had moved into a new location and were having problems with their land line and internet companies. Now when I call, the owner's son basically just laughs about it and is offering to give me a discount on a used computer that they have in stock. I have been told by a former employee that they have been parting out computers that have been brought in for repairs and selling them as used computers to other people. He says that is why he left the business. He called the local PD for me and explained the situation and the officer told him to have me come in to file a report. After the report is filed, he will take my service tag number and go in and look for my computer. The chances are slim however, that my computer is still in one piece at the original location and now it is my word against the business owner's. I want justice. I have taken out ads in three of the local papers to see if I can find anyone else that this has happened to. If I can find anyone else, I will file a lawsuit and put this guy out of business. Until then, can anyone think of anything else that I can do to get some justice? This is so unfair, I hadn't even finished paying for that stupid computer yet!
Why overclock my CPU? I have a bunch of computer parts, as I am an IT guy for a serious group of individuals. So I started selling PC's around last year, and I always have some good stuff. As of 6 months ago, I have been building PC's with high end, 4 thousand dollar configurations. My most prevalent customer, just got a PC from me, with a Core I7 965 Proc, and says to me while I'm building it at his house, that he needed the "unlocked multiplier". Now I know what that is, it makes overclocking much, much easier, but why? Why would I run a 3.2 Ghz Quad Core proc, any higher? What would I notice really? I have the equipment just laying around to try it, but I have never really built a power PC myself. I play Crysis, and Fallout, and UT just fine with a single 9800 GT, and a Phenom. So what would I notice if I could bring a 9770, or a 965 to 4.0, or to 5.0? Would it be worth it? Would I become addicted? (lol) Let me know, best answer get's a 40% discount on a part of their choice, ANY TIME IN THE FUTURE. Just email me, and tell me what you need, and when, I'm not going out of business anytime soon. Thanks in advance.
Among them, who got the most and who got the least jail-term discount? Why? Predators’ crimes and punishment Abused in a graveyard While the country was celebrating Christmas on Dec 25, 2006, tree cutter K. Kamalason, 47, raped a five-year-old child in a Chinese graveyard in Kuantan. He inflicted his young victim with extremely serious internal injuries to her uterus, intestines and private parts. Kamalason is married with two children ages two and six and was sentenced 20 years in jail and 20 strokes of the rotan. Her stepfather, her rapist As a stepfather, Zulkarnain Ramle, 40, of Kampung Sourabaya Hulu, Petra Jaya in Sarawak should have protected and cared for his stepchildren. Instead, Zulkarnain raped his 11-year-old stepdaughter three years ago when both her mother and elder sister were not at home. The child told her mother, who lodged a police report and her daughter taken for a medical examination. Zulkarnain was sentenced to 12 years in jail on Nov 3, 2003. On her way to work On Oct 7, 2000, computer engineer Noor Suzaily Mukhtar, 24, boarded a Metro bus from Kuala Lumpur to her workplace in Klang. It was like any other day during her two-week attachment at a medical centre in Port Klang. After the bus driver, Hanafi Mat Hassan, 38, dropped off the last remaining passenger at the Klang bus stand, he changed routes towards Banting and pulled over at the Bukit Tinggi project site. Noor Suzaily tried to escape but the doors were locked. The windows were heavily tinted so she could not draw attention. Hanafi raped her and used her headscarf to strangle her before tossing her naked body out of the bus. His wife had just given birth three days ago. Noor Suzaily was dressed in a long skirt and tudung. Yet police said the murderer claimed he tak tahan (unable to control his lust). Bomoh dupes teenage dropout She was 14, has dropped out of school, and living with her parents in Berenang, Kajang. When she started suffering from unexplainable pains in her legs in July 2000, her father, a retired soldier, took her to see a trusted family friend who was a bomoh. He told her she would die if she wasn’t cured of her elephantiasis disease. He convinced the girl’s father to set aside a room in their house to perform special prayers and treatments which could only be carried out after midnight to cure her. Over three years, the bomoh undressed the girl, raped and sodomised her while her parents slept. Before the “treatments”, the bomoh had forced the girl to spiritually marry him so they could have sex. She warned the girl not to inform her parents as the treatments must be kept a secret. In July 2003, the girl broke her silence and lodged a police report. The bomoh is learnt to have seven wives and was previously acquitted of a charge of conducting a marriage ceremony contrary to Islamic law at the Lower Syariah court in Malacca. Bomoh dupes high achiever student She was 16 and scored 9As in her PMR. Then she started losing interest in her studies in 2002. Her worried father, a businessman, brought her to a famous bomoh, as he believed his daughter has been put under a spell. The bomoh carried out his services in a hotel room. For several weeks, the businessman sent his daughter to the bomoh and waited in the lobby. By the time, he became suspicious, his daughter had been raped several times. The suspect reportedly has treatment centres in Pahang, Johor and other states. Police started a hunt for the bomoh who has since been on the run. Consensual sex or statutory rape? Thor Guan Aik asked the right question to his teenage girlfriend before having sex with her two years ago in Sungai Nibong, Penang, “How old are you?” She told him she was 16, which was old enough, so they had sex. She was actually 14 and the case went to court as statutory rape. On Oct 18, 2005, a Sessions Court freed Thor of the charge, ruling that the couple had consensual sex. The girl refused to testify in court. The judge also ruled her evidence as contradictory to the doctor and investigating officers’ testimonies. His release prompted women’s groups to call for an amendment of the Evidence Act to allow videotaped evidence to be allowed in cases. Raped after birthday bash In August 2004, lorry attendant Jailani Budin, 21, was sentenced to 30 years in prison after pleading guilty to six charges of raping a Form Three girl after helping to celebrate her 15th birthday. Jailani, who had two previous convictions for break-ins, took the girl on his motorcycle to three locations at different times. Although there was no element of violence, DPP Muhamad Iskandar Ahmad, pressed for the maximum sentence because he said rape offences were on the rise. Jailani’s wife was pregnant at the time he committed the offence. The Nurul Huda Gani case Jailani being led away by police after he was sentenced at the Sessions Court in Shah Alam. With her home just 300m from the Tenaga Nasional Berhad sub-station in Kampung Pekajang, Tanjung Kupang in Galang Patah, Johor Baru, little Nurul Huda Gani had probably passed security guard Mohd Abbas Danus Baksan, 46, before, on her way to the nearby grocery shop. On Jan 17, 2004, Mohd Abbas was convicted of dragging Nurul Huda into the station, raping and then murdering her. When she didn’t return home, her worried brother and two sisters came looking for her. She was found in a squatting position inside a toilet at the station. On Aug 28, 2004, Mohd Abbas was sentenced 20 years’ jail and 24 strokes of the rotan for raping the child, and sentenced to death for murdering her. He maintained his innocence that another security guard had been the killer. The serial rapist In January 2006, Beh Soon Hock (pic left), 39, lost his appeal against a sentence of 60 years and 24 strokes of the rotan for five offences of rape, sodomy, robbery and theft. High Court Justice Abdull Hamid Embong, who rejected Beh’s appeal, said he agreed that the sentences imposed on him by a lower court were appropriate. Beh had raped a South Korean woman and sodomised an Irish woman and a 10-year-old Kuwaiti boy. The unemployed bachelor had 53 previous convictions mostly for theft, housebreaking and mischief committed between 1985 and 1996. The pensioner who raped In August this year, Mat Saad Md Isa, 61, was convicted of raping an eight-year-old in a house in Sentul in 2001. The judge ordered to serve his 19-and-a-half years’ sentence for rape and four-and-a-half years’ sentence for an indecent act. He used a condom A roti canai seller raped his daughter and paid her RM5 as a “reward” to keep quiet. Court of Appeal judges unanimously rejected the 49-year-old father’s appeal to reduce his jail term in June 2008, after the defendant’s lawyer said, in mitigation, that he used a condom each time he raped the child. The man was sentenced to 36 years and 20 strokes of the rotan by the Shah Alam Sessions Court on Aug 20, 2004 after he pleaded to four counts of raping his 11-year-old daughter at their house between May 2003 and Aug 9, 2004. Has anyone heard of CDW before? and if so are they a good company? the company i work for gets a discount from them and was wondering they are worth getting computer parts from them.
Were can i get great educational discounts for computers? I am a part of a new private school starting in Coloraod Springs, and we need a computer lab of 12 computers for cheap but are decent.
eMachines parts needed...does it sound like the power supply to you? I don't know much about computers but this is what my husband was able to kind of figure out and what we think may be the problem. We have an eMachines W series computer (W4885) that is about 5 years old. We've never had any problems with it until about 4 months ago. When we would turn it off and try to turn it back on it wouldn't start, even though you could hear it trying to. Usually after about 20 minutes or so it would start back up. Well last month we moved and of course it was unplugged and when we tried to start it up it wouldn't start at all and didn't even sound like it was trying to anymore. My husband thought that it may be the power supply, what do you think? Also, do you know of any discount places (reliable) that I could order the parts from? The serial # is CG34260013462. Thanks for your time!
Why I Like Discount Store Bicycles? To paraphrase Karl, the owner of my LBS. I like discount store bikes because I can possibly make more $$$ repairing one K-Mart special than I can selling a new Raleigh. Roughly 85 - 90% of my profits come from repairing 1 - 5 year old discount store bikes. Once I sell a new bike, the only extra profit I make might be selling add-on parts, such as a rear rack or a cycle computer. One lady recently brought in a Roadmaster from Wally World. The front wheel looked like a Pringles potato chip. The brakes were shot, it needed two new tires, it didn't shift right & it needed new grips. That was just from taking one quick look at it. I tried 3 times talking her out of repairing the bike & simply buying a new one. After the 3rd try - I gave up. The repair bill was astronomical compared to buying a new bike just like it through Wal-Mart. So, thanks everyone for buying cheap discount store bikes. You keep me in business! All of the above is true. The first time I met Karl, a man was picking up a bike just repaired. He asked, "As good as new?" Karl (wanting to mess with his brain) said, "Nope...(long pause) I don't install junk parts like this bike came with. I install quality parts. It's now better than new." Just thought the regulars here might get a kick out it.
Where's the best place to get electronic parts? In the past I would just buy any electronic parts that I needed from my Computer Engineering teacher at school for discounted prices (since the school orders huge amounts at a time), but unfortunately I have run out of some things that I need (resistors & logic gates, mainly). I know that my school orders from a company called DigiKey, but I'd rather not have to order the parts (they don't have any nearby suppliers, either). So I was wondering where the best places would be to find electronic parts, as I've yet to find any nearby places that cater solely to electronic parts. Are there any larger companies that sell what I need? What kinds of stores would likely carry these things?
Is $720 for a gaming computer good? I am selling a really good brand new gaming computer. I built it myself. Everything inside and out in the computer is brand new and comes with the full warranty. I have a lot of discounts in a lot of stores so i really got everything for a better price than you can usually get it. If you were to buy exactly the same price it would come out to $768 without including taxes. Thats buying all the parts from newegg. The computer specs are as followed. Processor: AMD Athlon II 440 3.0 Ghz Triple Core Motherboard: Gigabyte S-Series M68M-S2P CPU Cooler: Cooler Master GeminII S Power Supply: Rocket Fish 700w Case: Cooler Master Storm Scout Graphics Card: Sparkle GeForce 9500GT 1GB GDDR2 Hard Drive: Seagate 800GB 7200RPM Ram: OCZ DDR2 PC6400 High Performance Memory Operating System: Windows 7 64Bit CD/DVD Drive: 24x CD/DVD Multi Recorder Lightscribe Enabled All cable management has been done. Also all wires have been sleeved and some have also been custom painted. Everything inside is blue and black. What PC parts should I buy and how can you tell if the part "is what it is"/"actually works" by seeing it? What I'm trying to do is go to this consumer electronics show that has all things "electronic/computer" at largely discounted prices. I know some of the stuff is big brand names (Sony.Toshiba, etc.) but I don't know what names are good as far as "PC parts" and the difference between a "TV video card" and a "graphics card", "RAM"(I thought 1gb is the most you can get?), and what works well as far as a DVD/CD burner goes? Here's the ultimate goal: A desktop PC that is connected to my 42"plasma and my Onkyo home theater; for the purpose of having a "media center". A)All my video files(from home movies-music videos-Netflix or some other online video rental, etc.)&plays back MP3s B)Acts as a "Tivo/DVR" that connects to the TV/Stereo in pure digital...The Onkyo receiver actually doesn't have that many "optical inputs"(maybe 2-3) and only about 2-3 HDMI inputs C)I'd also like to "sync" alot of home automation equipment as well (X-10 components) D)An emulator to play all the HD video games.
What microsoft operating system should I get for the computer I'm building? Hey all, Irecently purchased a bunch of parts to build a computer, but there is one component that I've yet to make a decision about - the operating system. I know I want a microsoft operating system. In fact, I know that I'm going to want Windows 7 once it's out of beta. However, I don't know what to do until then. I'm mainly looking for the most cost effective purchase. I've found XP on newegg.com for around $80, I think. But I'm not sure what the costs would look like to 'upgrade' to windows 7. Is it worth it to just get vista in the meantime? I work for a school district, so I think I get discounts on things like operating systems, if that makes a difference. Also, another dumb question - If I get software like photoshop and microsoft office, it should still work with the original product keys when I upgrade to 7, right? Thanks!!
Computer's all very slow, any way to speed everything up, just like new? I bought a whole new system (desktop) a few months ago. I spent around $600 on it, but I basically built it, cause I got all the best parts at discounted prices in warehouses n all, so i'm running windows vista ultimate 32-bit, and my performance level is 5.2 (thats the lowest one score that counts, my other ones are all 5.8). So, I've had it for a few months, but now I'm noticing that the response time is slower for everything, internet connection isn't as fast, start-up time, shut down, opening files, just takes longer than before. Is there any way to get the performance level up to when it was just a nerw system, or close ot there, without reinstalling windows?
Do you really want your employee benefits to be taxed as regular income? John McCain says he wants to lower taxes. It's a basic conservative belief: Taxes are bad. Government intervention into your life is bad. And yet McCain wants new taxes on your employee health insurance coverage, as if it were part of your salary rather than a fringe benefit. Besides the new tax on your health care insurance, if it raises your income into a higher tax bracket, you will pay higher taxes on ALL of your income. We've seen this kind of thing before, when they started taxing tips along with wages. Whether you work for McDonalds, Walmart, IBM, any union, or any other job that offers fringe benefits... First he'll tax your employee health care. Next, perhaps your life insurance. And then perhaps your employer's contribution to your disability insurance. And then your employee discounts. Company supplied computers and tools... Company car... Company supplied meals... When we allow government to start taxing our employee benefits, we're setting a very dangerous precedent, at least for the working person. Senior corporate executives and others who can afford accounting staffs to find tax dodges for them, will be just fine. So the question - Do you really want the government to start taxing your employee benefits like John McCain proposes? And is more taxation really what conseratives want?
My service engine light came on in my 1998 lincoln town car.? i took it to both autozone and discount auto parts both got no readings at all on their hand computer. Do you think I should purchase the m11x based on my needs? I really know nothing about computer parts, and I have been reading as much as I could about the m11x to see if it is what I want, and these are the issues that are still stumping me. 1) I would really love to play the newest games to come out on my computer for at least the next 6 years or so at medium settings with 40ish fps and was wondering if I could achieve that with this setup I currently have planned: the Intel® Core™2 Duo SU7300 1.3GHz (3MB Cache), 4GB Dual Channel DDR3 at 800MHz, and the 500GB SATAII 7,200RPM. This comes to about 1069$ with my student discount. 2) Also, is the CPU in the m11x worse than my core 2 duo T5750 @ 2.00 ghz. I am asking this because I do not know much about computer parts, I'm assuming the m11x's is worse because less ghz means slower (at least what I was led to believe). But I find this hard to believe because I purchased my laptop almost two years ago, I would think that the processor technology would be at the point where even an 11" laptop would have a far stronger CPU than my current Toshiba satellite-A305 that I got for about 800$. 3) Also, will the relatively old CPU on the m11x ever hinder the notebooks ability to play games in the future, as it will not meet minimum requirements? I have been reading a lot about the C2Duo vs the new i3,i5,i7 series, and was not entirely sure if it would be worth waiting for the m11x to have built in nethalem if all I really care about is gaming (no video editing). 4) Also, will the fact that this notebook is constructed with plastic ever cause the computer to warp? I have heard about prior issues like this in plastic builds, and more specifically alienware computers warping their shapes. 5) And, one final note, will the price of the new nethalem processors quickly drop, maybe so much so that if I wait until April, I could get the m11x with an i3 for the same price as I am paying now? (~1069$) 6) If i decide to buy the current setup I have planned, will I be able to easily upgrade my CPU to the nethalem series? How much will that usually cost, if I have alienware do it, without considering the price of the processor. 7) Is it risky for me to buy the first generation of m11x as there may be inherent problems in the design? Is this common for first generation computers, I know it's common for consoles (i.e. red ring of death). Please leave any insight you may have on these issues. Thanks!
legal question about selling items on ebay? i wrote my own disclaimer for computers i sell on eBay. so lets so for example someone is unhappy with my item. or someone tries to modify my item like over clocking the processor way too much in the computer that i sold them. and lets say that the computer overheats due to the over clocking they did. and the computer catches fire and the house catches fire... am i covered by stating this at the bottom of my instructions page?? Disclaimer* "If this processor is overclocked passed the tested speed of 3.6Ghz Digital Discount is not liable for any damages or injury that may result in the operation of a higher untested operating speed. Digital Discount provides no warranty what so ever for its computers. Individual parts may or may not have a manufactures warranty. I cant keep up with the latest computer companies! plz help!!? Ok, I'm 19 yrs old, in the SC Army National Guard for the next 5 years (been in for 1), got a $72,000 college scholarship from them + a $20,000 sign-on bonus coming soon. Im unemployed and not going to college yet. I have been working to get my computer company started for a veeery long time now and now we have finally kicked off. My competition isnt cyberpowerpc or ibuypower or any of those big name dealers because im mostly just local. Im not looking to go nationwide anytime soon as that would prolly end my life just trying to think about how i would do that at this point haha. I order parts from various websites-mostly newegg.com-and assemble them into a gaming computer that i give a name..like the black knight gaming pc...similar to how other companies like ibuypower has the battalion laptops and palidan desktops. I sell entry to highend pc's. but my problem is that i cant get my prices low. My entry level pc's are forced to be priced at $800+ b/c i cant find parts cheap enough to lower the price. im already on the verge of extinction b/c my pcs arent selling quite as well as i had hoped for. most website sell mid-range gaming pc's for about $50-$75 cheaper than my lower end ones on average. what can i do to find lower prices on parts. Oh, and i also have my own company logo that i put on my computer cases to show that its one assembled by my company which is a cool addition i think. doesnt cost so much either. i've been working on a website 24/7 for the past week and am probably about halfway done. are there any sites out there that i can order from for cheap?? Newegg.com is my primary source right now, so could yall plz help me find cheap prices based off of that? and what can you recommend i do about bulk items..how do i go about ordering in bulk to get big discounts? i havent figured that one out yet. also my company isn't copyrighted yet. im scared that might cost a butt load, so i need help with that too. haha. i know im a newb at this business stuff lol thats why im starting a business course at Devry in charlotte in january. but i wanted to go ahead and get a head start with my company so that when i am ready to go full-scale computer sales ill at least have something steady to start with. i have my own line of pc series with themed gaming pc setups within them. im working on getting my company out there on ebay right now so that i will have a very simple online market. hmmm...thats really all the cents i can put into it at this point. i may have a stroke before too long lol. thanks soo much for the answers and plz dont be shy to critisize, comment, judge, or correct anything i have said =] i forgot to mention i am veeery knowledgeble in computer technology. my only problem is getting my product on the shelves at a cheaper price to attract customers
Ordering a MacBook Pro online with student discount, will they check? Hi. I'm looking to order a new MacBook Pro for Uni in the UK this summer. I would want to get my new computer before uni starts (october 2010) just to get it prepared. I am currently situated in Hong Kong, so overseas shipping will be necessary, and hence, would they check if I am legible for the discount? I will not have my student ID until school starts, so how will I prove that I am legible for the discount if they do happen check? I am also looking to order the baseline printer as part of my purchase (as there's rebate, right?), so how do the rebate stuff work? Do they come in the mail as cash (if so, what currency?) or do they come in cheques (if so, written to the holder of the credit card used to purchase?) ? Only answer from experience, thanks!!

Computer Power Supply Question? I don't know why I can't remember the answer to this question. The processor I'm buying says that it's 'Thermal Design Power' is 125W. The power supply I want to get (it's part of a combo discount) is rated at 700W. Now does that mean that (after powering the CPU) it will have an output of 650W? In other words, I'll have 650W (w/o CPU) to use elseware in the system? Is there anything else I should know about the power supply? Power Supply Specs. Max Power: 700W PFC: Active +12V Rail: Single PCI Express connector: 2 x 6+2-pin SATAbPower Connector: 9 SLI: Certified CrossFire: Ready (I will be doing this) Effivience: > 85% Hold-Up Time: 17ms min Power good signal: 100-500ms

Do you know of any discount on Zend Studio or how to get a Zend Studio coupon code? I landed a job to code the database backend of a project based on mysql and PHP, but the company uses Zend Server and expects me to have Zend Studio on my computer. I will be paid well if I get my part done on time, and I think I could use Zend Studio on other projects too - so I got it on my mind to purchase the license. Do you know any valid Zend Studio coupon codes and where I can look for a Zend Studio coupon code myself? We are talking of 300USD, and I would like to see if possible to buy three years support as well - could come handy with my daily job as well. Thank you for any information.

So please allow me to have this experience, i will enjoy and cherish every single moment at this wonderful camp. Will a computer game downloaded online (legally) work better then the same game on a CD? i ask this because there is a discount for KOTOR download on dircet2drive.com. i had the game on xbox, then my 360 broke. then i had it on cd as a part of the Starwars best of pc pack which i got from a friend, and it lagged horribly to the point where i couldn't get the very first mission started. so, will this download work better with the disk or should i not waste my money. (i am not asking for opions about the game, even though they will all probably good, i just want to know if it will work better)
Should I work at geek squad or at the apple store as a specialist? I have applied to a few places and the apple store was the first to interview me, I had 2 interviews and I think they went great, they said they have to discuss with each other (the 2 managers) and they'll get back to me this week (good or bad). I also Applied to the geek squad and had given up after a week of not hearing from them, but I got a call and they want me to interview, I'm wondering which place I should work at if I get both. I can't be a genius at apple since I'm part time (I'm a student) geek squad pays from 9-11 (depending on experience) and apple pays around 10.50 (that's what my friends got) Apple has a good discount but not as many items to purchase, while best buy has a lot more things to get a discount on (I'm trying to get a new 26-32 LCD around 4-500) i have heard a lot of geek squad horror stories, I'm looking for a place where I can be myself and not fear getting fired for not doing stupid things. I'm looking for a place where I can enjoy working at most of the time. I love computers, I'm good at fixing them, but don't know if i want that to me my profession. I love macs now that I have one and would love to share the word. I'm in a huge dilemma
When Domino's has a deal meal and people call to order and they without knowing order something individually.. that it's actually part of a combo deal does the computer automatically alert to worker that there's a deal match and the person gets the discount for ordering from it? Just wondering because I just ordered a small 1 topping pizza and cheesybread but I just realized that it's part of a combo and I didn't mention it. Will they charge me more or does the computer automatically say it's a combo when they punch it in?

Avid Editing and Building Computers? I am a video production student, who is just starting to learn the Avid system. I'd like to buy the program we have with is Xpress Pro. That's not an issue, get the student discount, etc, but what exactly are all these other external parts I am finding? Are they just the different ways to get footage onto your computer, or do you need something other then the program itself to run the program? In another subject, I would like to build my own computer that would be compatible for this program and all it does. I know a bit about computers already, and some of the basic parts, but what, especially for the Avid program would some of the are some of the parts and models of which (for space and making sure the program runs nice and smoothly on it) that I would need?
Why do Somalians ask for a discount all the time? I work in a small local computer repair shop. We get a lot of Somalians bringing in their computers. Now, don't think I'm racist but many of them ask for a discount. These discounts are usually way bigger than I could possibly allow (like half off almost). Is there a reason that Somalians ask for discounts? Is it part of their culture or do they generally have less money than other people maybe? Q. where do you live that you have a bunch of Somalians around?? A. I live in Central Minnesota. Our shop for some reason gets a lot of Somalians. Maybe because of our prices (we are cheaper than most shops). Our area is also full of Somalian immigrants. I have no idea why.

In the past, people would not spend more than 50 cents for a cup of coffee. For a few years, now they glad to pay $1 to $4 for their cappuccino, mocha latte or vanilla ice blended drink The specialty-coffee business is growing at a healthy pace. The competive, companies include Starbucks, The Coffee Bean, Pet’s, Dietrich’s and other major chains, who serve average quality drinks in establishments that have the same generic design appearance. Indeed, Starbucks and The Coffee Bean are often referred to as "fast food" coffeehouses due to their "cookie cutter" design. Now that Americans' coffee preferences have broadened and matured, many are asking for more from their coffee shop. Design Coffee Shop can fill this need for more sophisticated shop. Market Risks MARKET OPPORTUNITY Ownership The Design Coffee Shop is a general partnership between Lisa and Sandy Mason. Each partner is equally l involved in operation and management of the shop, each to her own abilities. Location and Facilities The Design Coffee Shop is located in the Old Town section of San Bernardino, California. We currently own the building we will occupy, though painting and renovation are sorely needed. Products and Services Description of Products and Services The Design coffee shop will offer high quality coffee, tea, hot cocoa, and cappuccino, at a very reasonable price. Future Products and Services Within the next three to five years we expect to branch out into catering and offer homemade pies, whole or by the slice. Comparative Advantages in Production Our low overhead and cheaper pricing will be the key to our success. Industry Overview Market Research There are other businesses that serve only coffee in our town Size of the Industry Nationally, the coffee shop industry is quite large, but in somearea, there are more. Trends This industry is booming at the present time, and there is a trend toward small cozy places and away from the large generic chains. Industry Outlook The coffee business does not show signs of slowing down. With new innovations such as flavorings and additives, it should continue for a long time. Marketing Strategy Target Markets Our target market is a artist and writers who need a nice quiet cozy place to think and do their work. Description of Key Competitors Of the three coffee shops in the area, one is a large chain with a very expensive product, one is really a home-style restaurant, and the last one, our biggest competitor is an antique store with a "tea room". Analysis of Competitive Position Our pricing strategy and comfortable atmosphere will be the key to our success. None of the other shops in the area can offer this. Pricing Strategy We will offer three sizes of drinks, small $1.00, medium $1.50 and large $2.00. Our cookies and brownies will sell for $1.00 each and selling a booket of artwork for $10.00 Promotion Strategy We intend to advertise in the local newspapers and offer a "frequent drinkers club" discount to our best customers. We will also send out ads via direct mail, which will include cents off coupons. Management and Staffing Organizational Structure Our organizational structure will be a simple pyramid style with the owners putting in as much work as the employees. Pyrimid a tall hierarchical structure, in other words, then I would be the boss, with a general manager working as your employee, who has a team, that on its turn supervises the employees. I think I mean a Flat structure (with the owners being “one of the guys”) Management Team April and Arlene will share management and supervisory responsibilities equally. Arlene for the morning shift. April for the afternoon shift. Staffing We will hire two busboys and two waitresses; these will be recruited from the local high school. Labor Market Issues In this area there are many high school students looking for work, part time or full time, we want to fill that need. Market Risks The main risk is monetary. The area may not be ready for a place like ours and we may not do a great business. Implementation Plan Implementation Activities and Dates 1. A superior-tasting product backed by a unique quality store A relaxing, upscale interior design Prime site selection with an upscale affluent population, year-round tourist activity, heavy pedestrian traffic by the site, a dynamic student population and a concentration of local businesses A market that exposes Dark Roast Java to high-profile "trend-setters" and "key influencers" Ongoing, aggressive marketing Highly trained and friendly staff Multiple revenue streams including gift items, gift baskets and coffee gift/frequency cards in addition to coffee, pastry, chocolates, tea, juice, water and soft drink A dynamic website with online sales capability 2. This also assumes the market will not increase or decrease due to weather or economics. This would be an average month.

Theoretical Physics Question? It's interesting. I've always done really well in science. I pulled A's in it all through school and college. I however don't believe macroevolutionary theory. I've also come to disbelieve in the constancy of speed of light thorughout history even within a vacuum. This flies in the face of accepted theory. The constancy of the speed of light is the basis for several scientific theories. One thing at a time... Thermodynamics tends to fly in the face of so many other theories. Now, I'm not prone to believe that relativity absolutely breaks down with a nonconstancy of speed of light. Galileo fathers the relativity concepts. I would say that the known universe (all matter and energy discounting space outside these boundaries) parts is affected by all other matter and energy within the universe. I'll state it better. The placement of matter and energy throughout the cosmos does have a boundary though that boundary is constantly increasing into space. Despite that ever increase, we'll concentrate on those boundaries where matter and energy extend to. It would seem that matter and energy are affected constantly by other matter and energy. There seems to be a field or fields of energy throughout the inward boundaries of the universe. As the matter and energy constantly moves outward past the said boundaries, it would seem that various laws are constanly affected by the expanse whether it be the various fields, the speed of expanse, and even the possiblity of the nonconstancy of speed of light due to this ever-advance and changing affects of fields throughout the ever expanding universe. Now I admit that I take Genesis literally. I don't believe in the Gap Theory or other theories that are spliced together to reconcile Christianity/Judaism with "accepted" science. Some would call that a handycap, in that I believe the scriptures to a tee. I would call it a strength but it does kinda lend to the idea that beauty is in the eye of the beholder. Or that logic is in the mind of the observer. I dunno. I again say that relativity isn't necessarily attacked by the possiblity of nonconstancy. I would say that laws remain constant relative to each other as the expanse ever increases. This would or could possiblity keep the speed of light basis for other laws and theories in tact. I would hazard to say that as the decrease of lightspeed affects all other theories but not in so much a noticeable way. Another factor... As the expanse of space increases, matter and energy tends to draw all other bodies and at times repels all other bodies. What if a slingshot effect is occurring? The universe (energy and matter) are expanding uot constantly due to being "slung." But then as matter and energy are slung out, they're still being pulled upon if even ever so slightly noticeable. It would seem that there is a posibility that the universe will snap back in the time to come. I wonder if the lightspeed would even increase back to its former state as the matter and energy pull back to the core of our universe. This would seem to evevn affect gravitational forces through all of our universe (locations of matter and energy and all the in between). Now we know, gravity can affect how we perceive time. Even speed can affect how time passes for all things within the thing moving... One change in the governing laws affects the laws abroad maing it unnoticeable. Hmmm. As for thermodynamics, the layout I have here would seem to indicate that the universe is a closed system due to the factors I've stated. That said... The First Law of Thermodynamics states the following that the total amount of energy in our universe, or in any isolated part of it, remains constant. Furthermore, energy can be transformed from one form into another, but it cannot be created and cannot be destroyed. As a consequence, the current amount of energy in the universe has been in existence for a long time. Natural processes cannot create energy, thus this energy could have been produced only by a force outside our universe. According to evolutionists, complex organisms evolved from simpler ones. Simple organisms were formed from matter and energy. They state that matter and energy appeared from nothing. This contradicts the First Law. On the contrary, Creation is supernatural and stands above the laws of nature. God can create matter, energy, and laws that govern them. According to the Second Law of Thermodynamics, the energy available for useful work decreases in an isolated system, although the total amount of energy remains constant. This is because energy can transform only into lower forms of energy through natural processes. For example, electric current passing through a light bulb ends up transforming into heat, which is the lowest "quality" energy consisting of chaotic molecular movement. This Second Law introduces the concept of entropy, a measure of disorder. Entropy constantly increases in any isolated system. In other words, the system becomes disorganized and energy becomes less usable. Based on this law, the amount of information conveyed by a system continually decreases and its quality deteriorates. Basically, the law states that natural processes disorganize the state of objects and systems. Over time, everything decays and becomes disorganized. The universe irreversibly heads toward maximum disorganization. Just think about what happens with our house if we "comfortably" leave it by itself for a while, we don't clean up, arrange and mend all the time. Natural processes constantly destroy and disorganize it. Our house needs our useful and expedient work to maintain the order. Even atomic particles search the lowest energy levels, they "like comfort". The amount of information and the complexity of our universe perpetually decreases instead of increasing. According to evolutionary theory, life on earth progresses from simple to complex and never vice versa. Everything becomes more and more organized and entropy constantly decreases. Thus, macroevolution contradicts both laws of thermodynamics. According to the Second Law of Thermodynamics, everything degrades and breaks down. We can see this in the universe. The sun slowly but surely cools off, stars die, matter dissolves into radiation, etc. Our universe progresses toward its death, namely toward maximum entropy. This process is irreversible. If there was no Creator, this tragic end would certainly occur. The Two Laws of Thermodynamics point not only to a death in the future, but also to the Creation in the past: According to the First Law, the cosmos could not have created itself, thus an external force must have existed to create it. According to the Second Law, if our universe was infinitely old, it would be dead and destroyed already. But this is not the case, so it must also have had a beginning. Sometime in the past the universe had been created and the cosmic processes were started. Every star, the perfectly designed nature and all the accurate laws of nature bear testimony to the existence of a Creator who created them all. We think that the amount of information is continually increasing on earth. Day after day, new inventions appear, just think about the development of the computer. How does this contradict the laws of thermodynamics? There is no contradiction, for these inventions were not the random result of natural processes, but human intelligence. Humans create the programs running on computers to make them do useful work. Natural processes don't produce anything with a goal in mind. Having a goal means thinking in advance. The idea of the breakdown of all things within the universe doesn't fly in the face of the nonconstancy hypothesis. Even the slingshot effect as the the universe returns to the core doesn't contradict this idea because as it returned to the core, collapse and degradation are the ultimate result, even with the increase of speed of light and relative affect on other laws as the phenomena occurred. Your thoughts if any? in my opinion, the theories criss cross into one another. i mentioned various theories that tend to lend support to the various ideas that i presented. i think i forgot to mention quantum theory. it saddens me that the bare mention of creator discounts the speaker in countless forums. This link metnions the idea that the universe can collapse: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fate_of_the_universe Thanks for the poop remark. That makes the seventh time I've heard it in my lifetime. I think I've only heard it once not on the internet. You mentioned fundamentalist. I'm only that if by the term you mean that I believe the 5 points of fundamentalism: Sola Scriptura, full deity and full humanity of Christ, literal virgin birth-death and resurrection-ascension, Christ died as a substitute for human sin, and literal miracles of Christ. I however don't have a Baptist or Presbyterian history. I've investigated the original meaning of the term fundamentalism(ist) and am unable to reconcile it with the modern day definition. My best friend Matt is a devout Roman Catholic as well. Moving forward, I only embrace micro-evolution in terms of variatian/adaptation within a species. I would hazard to say that macro isn't observed but widely accepted due to archaeological evidence. Though I believe proof and evidence are not synonymous. There have been papers submitted to peer review over the years but shunned by the mainstream when the data contradicts accepted science. I know that everything I said is considered ignorance. I accept that. I've a friend from Georgia who is a Physicist and post grad. He believes some of what I wrote. I'm getting in touch with him again soon and am presenting some of my ideas to him. Though shunned by the mainstream, there are scientists who agree with parts of what I've stated. I no doubt didn't do the ideas any justice in my attempt to restate them. Lambert Dolphin, Barry Setterfield, and Karl Baugh have lent other grounds for my disagreements. Gap theory used to be my reconciling factor. I forgot to say that I know longer embrace Gap Theory. I tried to contact the last person who replied but it said your email address was not yet verified. Dunno. A speedy reply from physicist Lambert Dolphin: Dear Jeremy, Your ideas are certainly basically sound in my opinion. I believe the Second Law as we see it now is a feature of a fallen universe. I assume the energy reservoirs of the universe were originally recharged as fast as they were depleted, keeping the total entropy constant. See my chart near the bottom of http://www.ldolphin.org/Unique.html Barry Setterfield has shown that relativity theory is unaffected by any non-constancy in c. See http://www.setterfield.org/relativityandc.html Yes, all matter in the universe is linked to all other matter in the universe. That is one reason we call it a UNI-verse. This interacting from one part of the universe to the whole is probably through the ZPE and the sea of latent energy in the vacuum. The gap theory has pretty well gone away now. The text of Genesis really does not allow for a gap between 1:1 and 1:2 http://www.ldolphin.org/Unique.html www.ldolphin.org/genesis1.html Barry has really looked into many many implication for a universe where c is not a fixed constant. http://www.ldolphin.org/cdkconseq.html See also the many discussions and Q&A pages on his web site, http://setterfield.org. I do not believe the universe is expanding. I believe the heavens were all stretched out on Day Two of creation week and the diameter of the universe has been constant ever since. That is we live in a static universe. The red shift is an artifact of c-decay. It is atomic time that is MOST affected by changes in c. Dynamical time is little affected. Yes, agreed. Outside energy and outside programming information are necessary to bring order out of chaos. Yes, agreed. Yes, agreed. Yes, agreed. Actually we are less smart than our forefathers. We are idiots compared to Adam. Many species once found on earth are now extinct. The dropping of the speed of light appears to be a consequence of the stretching out of the fabric of space on Day Two of creation week, not a consequence of a broken, fallen universe. Lambert His reply ends above. He actually broke my question up and answered ever so often. Rather than repeating what I said, I thought I would just copy and paste his replies. The above is not my friend from Georgia. If he replies before the 7 days are up, I'll post his reply.

UPS employee benefits? I'm interviewing for a part time package handler position next week and I was wondering what kind of employee benefits and discounts they provide their part time employees? I hear you can go to upsers.com and find out but I'm not employed yet so I can't login. I know they have 401K and medicial, vision and dental insurance (awesome!) but I was curious about discounts for local stores and retailers. (like verizon cell phone service, dell computers, best buy or something etc) Anything you can tell me would be much appreciated!! Thank you
hey i need help my grammer? Design Coffee Shop will begin operations in July 2009. Plans also include undertaking a small expansion with 6-8 months of beginning operations." Brief outline of your business concept: Design coffee shop is company involved more greatest the originally coffee shop It providing graphic design and marketing communication services. it not provide big business . It just likes a small business Every day, millions of Americans wanted to sit down and enjoy the smell cup of coffee and lay back & see the background artwork from graphic design artist. "A person had dreamed to spend more than 50 cents for a cup of coffee. A few years, now they glad to pay $1 to $4 for their cappuccino, mocha latte or vanilla ice blended drink The specialty-coffee business is growing at a healthy pace. The completive the Starbucks, The Coffee Bean, Pet’s, Dietrich’s and other major chains serve average quality drinks in establishments that have the same generic design appearance. Indeed, Starbucks and The Coffee Bean are often referred to as "fast food" coffeehouses due to their "cookie cutter" design. Now that Americans' coffee preferences have broadened and matured, many are asking for more from their design coffee shop Vision and Mission Statement The design coffee shop will become the more like small museum. We will serve a perfect product at a very competitve price We will also be a meeting place for graphic design artists and a place for them to show off their work. We will create an atmosphere conducive to creative expression and promote the creative process. Our primary goals over the next year are: 1. Secure financing for start-up of at least $1,000 for space and equipment. 2. Renovate our space in San Berniorndio. 3. Acquire equipment necessary for business, i.e. coffee pot, cappuccino machines, blenders, etc. 4. Make agreement with coffee distributors, and bakery vendors. 5. Create a cozy, artist friendly environment (i.e. choice of colors, choice of music, decor) 6. Open for business and become the foremost coffeehouse in the area. MARKET OPPORTUNITY Ownership The Design coffee shop is a general partnership between Lisa and Sandy Mason. Each partner is equally financial involvement in operation and management of the shop, each to her own abilities. Location and Facilities The Design coffee shop is located in the Old Town section of San Bernardino, California. We currently own the building we will occupy, though painting and renovation are sorely needed. Products and Services Description of Products and Services The Design coffee shop will offer high quality coffee, tea, hot coca, and cappuccino, at a very reasonable price. we also buy cooking from other store. Key Features of the Products and Services All drinks will be made with filtered water and the highest quality ingredients we can get. Frozen drinks will have caramel or chocolate syrup drizzled in the glass and over the drink. Cappuccino and hot coca will have whipped cream toppings as well as the option for candy sprinkles. Cookies will have the option of a chocolate or caramel dip and sprinkles. We will offer designer flavored cream and five kinds of sweetener, i.e. sugar, honey, Equal, Splenda, and Sweet-n-Low. Cream and sweetener is at no extra charge. Production of Products and Services We will use only filtered water and will brew our coffee in commercial coffeepots that will be thoroughly cleaned between uses. Future Products and Services Within the next three to five years we expect to branch out into catering and offer homemade pies, whole or by the slice. Comparative Advantages in Production Our low overhead and cheaper pricing will be the key to our success. Industry Overview Market Research There are other businesses that serve only coffee in our Old Town. Size of the Industry Nationally, the coffee shop industry is quite large, but in somewhere, there are more. Key Industry Trends This industry is booming at the present time, there is a trend toward small cozy places and away from the large generic chain. Industry Outlook The coffee business does not show signs of slowing down. With new innovations such as flavorings and additives, it should continue for some time. Marketing Strategy Target Markets Our target market is a artist and writers who need a nice quite cozy place to think and do their work. Description of Key Competitors Of the three coffee shops in the area, one is a large chain with a very expensive product, one is really a home-style restaurant, the last one, and our biggest competitor is an antique store with a "tea room". Analysis of Competitive Position Our pricing strategy and comfortable atmosphere will be the key to our success. None of the other shops in the area can offer this. Pricing Strategy We will offer three sizes of drinks, small $1.00, medium $1.50 and large $2.00. Our cookies and brownies will sell for $1.00 each Promotion Strategy We intend to advertise in the local newspapers and offer a "frequent drinkers club" discount to our best customers. Implementation Plan Implementation Activities and Dates . Complete renovation 2/15/09 Purchase and set up equipment Interview staff Hire staff 3. Begin preliminary advertising 2/15/09 (Not yet) Operate for 1 week unannounced (to get the kinks out, people notice "new" businesses, word of mouth will get out there, be ready) Notify local newspaper your grand opening will be (no advertising cost, you'll be swamped!) 4. Purchase and setup equipment 2/15/09 (This is mentioned above.) 5. Open for business 7/1/09 Financial Plan Balance Sheet Current Assets: Building $150,000 5 computer $ Furnishings $5,000 if I go for a good atmosphere, you’ll need more than that probably, unless you get money from the government (you are promoting culture in the end!) Equipment $1,000 Cash Arlene $5,000 April $4,500 Accounts Receivable None Inventory Coffee $1,000 Tea $500 Other Assets Cups $3,000 Total Current Assets $182,800 Liabilities: Accounts Payable (monthly) Water $200 Phone $150 Electric $500 Donut Vendor $1,000 Warehouse Club $1,000 Coffee Distributor $1,000 Wages $5,000 Advertising $1,000 Taxes Payable Property Taxes $500 Employee Taxes $2,000 Operating Loans Payable Startup Loan $500 Printer $ 97 Total Liabilities $12,947 on going per month Projected Income March 05 Coffee $6,000 Tea $2,000 Cookies $1,500 Donuts $2,500 Misc. $4,000 Total Income for March $16,000 Total Projected Net Profit (Cost/Benefit) $3,150 for March This would assume 20 pots of coffee sold a day, plus an assortment of other items. This also assumes the market will not increase or decrease due to weather or economics. This would be an average month.
I am being sued, think they will win on car deal? I sold a car to a teenager with a rebuilt tranny and no radio. Him and his dad drove the vehicle a few times before buying, bought car and took it home. A week later they called and said they were installing a radio and it started smoking and it fried the electrical system cause when they would take the key out of the ignition the lights would go up and down and the car would still run. I am a mechanic and said I would diagnose the preoblem for them to save them money at a shop for free. They drove the car to my house 40 miles, and had to tow it the remaining mile due to the car dieing on them. The computer test I said the alternator was bad, so I got them my discount on the alternator and let them use my tools and garage to put the new one in, I did not assist physically but instructed them how to do it. They got the car running, drove it home, now the tranny is bad and are now taking me to court for the money back. I also advised them to take the tranny from a car I was junking, exact same car and year, as well as any other parts they may need, even told them to take for free, they didn't. I also offered to do a new computer test on the vehicle because the test alerts to the first main thing it finds and there could be other issues beyond the alternator that were wrong, but the kid just wanted to take his car. The car is a 91 Eagle Talon with electronic shift transmission. Will they win? So much for trying to be a nice guy and help them out. Thanks for your answers, a lawyer friend of mine said I had nothing to worry about, but it is so unnerving to be sued, especially when I went out of my way to help them out.
Anybody else hear Damrau at the Met today? OK - there *were* other wonderful people on stage today (Lucia di Lammermoor) but Diana Damrau was INCREDIBLE. Of course - I was eagerly awaiting the Mad Scene, since I am a flutist - and it was don with Rossini's original intention - a GLASS HARMONICA playing some for the aria instrumental parts, to indicate her descent into madness! However, the traditional obbligato was done by the terrific flutist Stephanie Mortimore. Great harp solo, too. I am writing lees to ASK, than to pass along some info: the Met, we know, has announced that the same HD films of operas that you can see in some theaters, are now available as streamed video, so go figure out how to plug your computer into your flat-screen home theater! HOWEVER - new to me today - if you are a Guild Member (starts at $65) then beside the OTHER perks you get ( read the website) you can get a discount on the subscription to the streaming. Usually, $14.99 per opera pr $149.99 per year. Guild offer - $49.99 for six months! I know a *few* contributors to this list who might be interested! So - back to my original question - Were you at the Met today? And if so, can we kvell over this together here? I just went to the website - and have some mis-information to correct. My local Radio Shack also sold me the necessary cable, but says that you CANNOT get true HD thru the Internet - it will be HiRez, but not HD. Good enough! How much does Met Player cost? There are several different options available to experience Met Player, at different price points. Subscriptions offering unlimited access are available for $14.99 per month or $149.99 per year. Through the end of 2008, Met Members at the $125 level and above can purchase an introductory six-month subscription to Met Player for $49.99. Non-subscribers can rent individual operas for a one-time rental fee of $4.99 for HD videos and $3.99 for audio performances and non-HD videos. Individual rentals may be played in a six-hour window within 30 days of purchase.

Two pairs of glasses from two different opticians - bad idea? A part of my job requires that I sit at a computer several hours a week. I was getting neck pain, so my employer paid for an eye exam and a pair of computer glasses. I actually need new glasses for private use, too, so the optical store from where I got them offered me a 15% discount if I buy another pair of glasses from them. I would actually save a bit more, because they can use the exam that my employer already paid for. However, a few other optical stores in town are offering a second pair of glasses (computer glasses, sun glasses, or just an extra pair) for free when you pay full price for the first pair. It would be good, actually, to get some computer glasses for home use, too, so that offer is very tempting. But my concern is that the new prescription might be slightly different from the one my employer paid for. So, my question is this: if I get my eyes examined and get 2 pairs of glasses from another optical store, will it be too hard for my eyes to get used to two potentially slightly different prescriptions? Or, should I take advantage of the first optician's 15% discount offer and skip the second-pair-for-free deal?

Regarding part compatability with Dell desktops? So I'm going to go through and order a dell computer, I'll get a 20% discount through Boeing, couple questions however: Dell offers Windows Vista Ultimate "Bonus", wherein I guess you can get your computer with XP pre-installed, and can upgrade to Vista when your ready, is this OK or would it be safer/wiser to just buy Vista pre-installed? Secondly, regardless or not if I go Windows XP pre-installed or not, I plan on upgrading the sound card the system comes with (In this case integrated audio, ugh) to something like a Xonar (zOMG a sound card that actually works decently with Vista!)? I also would like to know if this would "void" any warranty I get through dell for the desktop. And finally, is their no way to get Vista 64 Bit through Dell? I dont know why they insist on not giving out a superior OS. Input? Thanks. Especially considering they give out 64 bit parts, but make you settle for 32 bit.

How can I convince my mom to let me buy a laptop? I really want to buy the new white MacBook. With an education discount and preinstalled iWork, it will be around $990. I wrote out a plan to show my mom that I will have her buy it now but I will pay her back an amount each month to completely buy the laptop myself. (Kind of like a mortgage/installment plan.) My mom says a laptop is unnecessary but I can truthfully say that I am mature and responsible for my age. I am turning 15 in a month and a half and I really want a laptop. Our current desktop (family computer) is a PC and a lot of things mess up on it constantly (me, my brother, and (sometimes) my mom uses it). I'd rather have my own laptop because I will have complete control on it- meaning my brother can't download things constantly and have spyware and Trojans let in. I also want to use it for schoolwork and for media (I'm a big photo/video girl, and Macs are great for that). This is the cheapest MacBook, but still has everything I want as far as memory, features, etc. All of my friends have their own laptops/computers but as my mom pointed out- all of them have either two full-time working parents, or two full-time working divorced parents (where the other parent chips in toward the cost). My mom is widowed and works part-time so we have no other income. At the moment my mom has been thinking of investing in a new TV or car and such and if she has the money to buy that right now, I don't see why she can't shell out a thousand for me to pay back later. Please help me try and convince her! I am being mature and calm while talking to her- and not whining or bringing up "Everybody has one!" Thanks in advance. I forgot to mention that I am a good kid- I get straight As and do my chores. My mom won't get it as a present because she normally spends $200-300 on birthday.
Which is it? # An individual who own shares of a firm (i.e., an equity investor), actually owns a part of the firm. a. True b. False # The coupon rate of a bond is the same as the interest rate of a bond. As interest rates change in the economy, the coupon rate also changes and this in turn will change the face value of the bond. a. True b. False # Whereas debt securities are uniform across all corporations, there are various types of equity securities and U.S. corporations are very creative about designing new and unique equity securities. a. True b. False # The government of Mont-Ecar-Low issued a $1,000 par value bond with a coupon rate of $150 per year, but this bond would not mature for 1,000,000,000,000 years. If investor's required rate of return on this bond is 15 percent, can you calculate the expected market price of this bond and if yes, what is the expected market price? a. Yes, an expected market price can be calculated, but the only way is to use a large computer that can add up the present value of 1,000,000,000,000 coupon payments of $150 each and the present value of the par value of the bond. b. No, because all of today's investors will be dead before the bond matures. c. Yes, the current value of the bond is within rounding error of zero because using 15% to discount for 1,000,000,000,000 years reduces almost any dollar amount to zero. d. No, because a calculator will not accept 1,000,000,000,000 for the number of compounding periods and 1,000,000,000,000 years is not on any chart of discounting factors. e. Yes, because the coupon rate of 15% is equal to the discount rate of 15%, the bond will trade at par value of $1,000.
I'm jealous of my friends...........? I'm 21, I'm a girl(gonna change my pic later) I go to college full time,I work part time and volunteer. My friends on the other hand do NOt go to college, and becuase of that all still live at home and have TONS of cash. They all look fashionable and have the most creative and amazing clothing and accesories(I shop at the discount bin) and looks do matter,I'm an attractive girl, but I look boring becuase nothing stands out while my friends all look so cool an interesting when compared to me. They are also not always busy and tired like me.They have time to sit at the computer all day and find interesting music bands and piercings. I'm just jealous. I'm trying so hard to get the life I want, while my friends are just spending money and having fun, while I'm responsible, ambitious and poor! between car payments, rent and school I only have about $50 to spend on me a month. How can I get over the fact that people think my friends are more interesting and fun then me becuase of what they own?
Buying a Dell XPS 1530, looking for some advice.? After customizing and such, I've found the computer that fits my needs, but I was just wondering if theres anyway I could lower the price a little bit. Right now my systems running at about 1700 CAD (before tax), with for the most part, maxed out specs (minus processor and HDD). If I was talking to a sales rep, would asking for a student discount help at all? (going into University next year) or what if I bring up our loyalty to Dell, telling them how all of our computers in our house, with the exception of mine, are their own? Thanks, any help is appreciated.
