how much can i get for a used Gateway computer? It's about 3 1/2yrs old, I plan on selling the Gateway Lap top, and I don't know where to do it or how much I will even get for it. Pleasee give me an estimate of how much I will get. as you can tell, I'm not computer smart, I don't really know, it was a friend's lap top that I've been using for a short time. So I guess I'll just go to where ever they buy computers, and let them check it out.
What is your opinion of Gateway computers? I'm looking to get a new PC for my house but don't want to spend too much. Just need something basic and simple. I know someone with "gently used" Gateway E 1600 computers. What's your experience with Gateway in general? How long do they last? Is tech support okay? Any help or opinions would be appreciated!
I Just bought a used computer, and it's saying that microsoft cannot validate windows? Help? I bought a used gateway computer, it came with windows xp. But I wanted to upgrade the internet explorer and in order to do that it needed to validate that my windows was authentic. It came back saying that is was unable to validate it's autenticy. I entered the product key number located on the side of my computer tower. And said it was invalid. So now what so I do? I'm guessing this windows might be counterfit? I have really no idea. If that is the case how do I get the Real Windows Xp? I still have my old computer with the real windows Xp on it, but no disk. Can I somehow transfer it to my new computer? Any suggestions? I really don't know about computers. Help me please! My computer keeps telling me that this copy of windows is not activated? How do I activate it then? Okay, problem solved! I activated my windows by phone! So it is a validated windows and not counterfit! I'm so glad! Now I have an updated internet explorer as well. Thanks to everyone!
new computer freezes whenever internet is used, gateway computer runs on windows 7? i got a new computer the other week the first day it didnt freeze at all but after that everytime i use the computers internet it freezes. when i would use the internet it gose to the homepage and even lets me link the site that i want to go to but after about the third page it would freeze for about fifteen minutes. by the time it returns you can do one thing and it would autamaticly freeze again. i dont know if its a new computer thing, if its the windows 7 because i had windows xp on my old computer and it worked fine. if anyone has a suggestion, a theory or even experienced the same problem let me know thanks.
How do i get my used Lexmark x125 to print? I am hooked up to a used gateway computer. Printer does not work. I need someone to supply me with the steps to take to fix this problem. I am not a tech expert.
I bought a used Gateway computer, and the hard drive was wiped clean. Is there a way to recover Windows XP?? I heard from someone that I could somehow order a Windows recovery disk from Gateway. The system originally had XP home, and the Windows XP sticker is still on the back. The previous owner was a retail store, so they had to wipe the hard drive clean, and they don't have any recovery discs with it. Am I still allowed to use that copy of Windows? If so, how would I go about reinstalling it?

can I take a disc of windows XP that came with my new gateway laptop, and install it on an acer laptop? My old gateway laptop came with a licensed copy of Windows XP, my Acer laptop has an unlicensed copy of Windows XP. I don't plan on using the Gateway anymore. The installation disc says it is only for use with gateway computers. Can I put the licensed copy on my Acer? Or, can I use the product key to authorize the unlicensed copy?
Are there other computer screens compatible with gateway computers? We have a gateway screen that quit working and i went to find a new one for my mom to order and started reading the reviews and they are bad so we have decided to try to get a computer screen from a different company. Where to sell used computers? My husband and I have computers we don't use anymore, and we want to get rid of them. If i connect my ps3 to the gateway my computer is using, will using the computer make me lag? will it cause me to lag when my sister gets on the computer. Computer people!!I just bought a used gateway mx3228, everything works great? but the internal wireless card. It connects for about 2 seconds then disconnects, it then says unable to connect to preferred wireless network. I don't know what to do, whether to buy and install a new internal wireless card or whether it is something more major. Do you think just buying a net gear usb wireless adapter would work? I am not sure if that has to do with the internal wireless or will it by pass it and let me use the wireless. Any answers would be helpful!
What is the best way to use two monitors on a Gateway computer with a Nvidia 7600 GT? I would like to use 2 monitors, my new 22" LG monitor and my old 17" samsung. I would most likely use the 17" for running my server or lets say im doing some homework, one screen has research/information, the other one im typing, etc. Using those scenerios what would be the best, but least expensive way to do this, my graphics card has two monitor connects already one is used by my 17", can I plug the other monitor in the other connection and flip between the 2 monitors?

gateway computers screwed me over.? So, i bought my computer.. about 2 years ago now, and its the FX model which was top of the line back then, anyways so my graphic card which was a 8600 gt i think, started to act funny and stuff so i thought the card was going crazy, so i called gateway and i have the warrenty, and i told them that the card is screwing around and that i would need a new one. they sent me a new card which got here yesterday, at first i was glad cause i could actually use my computer again without seeing random colors all over the place. i take a look at what they sent me, they sent me a ATI card, and i dont know too much about these things and all i saw that i knew was that the mb on the ati is 128, and my nvidia was 512. so i do some research and find out that they sent me some crappy ass card that isnt even near half as good as my other one. i dont use my computer for anything extreme or even gaming so im sure this ati is fine for what i do, but what bothers me is they screwed me over. so i called gateway and told them that the warrenty said you would replace the broken part, and not try to send me something thats crap, and that i want something that is at least equivalent Then the mother fucker(excuse me) says that they sent me a graphic card that is compatable with my computer and that they cant change it. Ok, so i know my computer can take a very good graphic card, so i told my friend the specs and i got all the things i need to even run the high end cards. I was wondering if i can take legal action for this, i dont want to like sue them for a million dollers or anything i just want what they promised me when i bought my computer. sorry for the lonnngg asss story thanks
Gateway computer shutting down randomly? I am currently using a gateway computer, and for some odd reason it keeps shutting down for no apparent reason. I am not doing anything bad to it. I even scanned it, and there was no virus. I go to power options, set it to power saver, and it still shut's down after like 3 hours. How do I know what drivers to install on a Dell machine with a Gateway OS? "Patrick" didn't have his recovery disk and driver disk when we reformatted his Dell Latitude D810. I used my Gateway OS (for a GT4016) to reformat. Now the dell won't connect, needs (among other drivers) ethernet controller driver etc... Customer service support for Gateway computers? Please read my question, “What has happened to Gateway products and support? I noticed others were unhappy with Gateway support and products. Any others? You would think for the price you pay the service would be better. I can’t deal with being on the telephone or on –line for hours just to reach customer service or technical support. I can’t deal with people I can not even understand. I don’t want a Tech who tells me to mail in my laptop or desktop as a means of resolving technical issues. I can’t let go of my computer for several weeks because Gateway stopped using a local contractor for minor repairs and service.

Sony handy cam mini dv to a gateway computer with vista? So when I first bought my camcorder about 6 years ago it came with a program for computers. Well that was 6 years ago and I no longer have the disc, but want to be able to use it with the computer, I've tried hooking it up with the USB and the computer did not recognize it. I also tried hooking it up with the rcs on the front panel of the computer no luck. Does anyone have any suggestions? I'm assuming that I need to install something on the computer so that it recognizes the camcorder but have no idea where to look. The computer is a gateway gm5420 running vista home premium.
Chinese characters "bleed through" on the Gateway Computers at my local library. What Causes that.? On the Gateway's at the local library I get random Chinese characters on websites, and LAN stuff as well. They are the one piece (small form factor) computers. Don't know the model number. No problem at home, though. Both home and library use winxp.

But my dad was like i need to make sure that the computer accepts a verizon wireless card that gets me internet regardless of where i am. How can i make 2 computers with zone alarm firewall communicate in order to connect to the internet using ICS? I use internet connection sharing to connect to the internet with my laptop. I installed zone alarm firewall to the computer which is the gateway to the internet. Gateway MX6025 laptop computer. It has bad chips on the motherboard.? How to use bluetooth telephony audio gateway? I have a samsung sgh-e900 connected to my hp pavillion laptop via bluetooth. I have connected the bluetooth telephony audio gateway in device settings. IT works but i can onl use my computer speakers as speakers and cannot work out why the microphone is not working and which on to use? much appreciated
How do I use the video in jack on the front my gateway computer? I am trying to feed the video from my camcorder and I cant figure it out.
Which memory card is best for my Gateway 840 GM PC? I have a gateway computer 840 GM . I want to upgrade the memory from 1 gb to 2 or 4 gb. When i contacted gateway they insisted on Using their memory as they claimed that using other memory cards created problems on many peoples computer. Does any one know about this?
Where do I plug in the microphone on a Gateway computer? I have Boston speakers and I plugged in the head phone part of the microphone in the back of the speakers but I can not find where to plug in the microphone, does anyone know where I can plug it in? I am using Microsoft Windows XP and Gateway harddrive with something that says Intel Inside sticker thing on the harddrive, I need to know where to put this in because I have to do something very important right now.
Should I buy this computer? (Details included) Also are Gateway® computers any good? I'm low on money right now and will be for quite some time. I need to get a better computer, because the one I'm using is not really capable of playing anything that is out. I want to play Hellgate London set at it's Ultra High settings, and this computer has been recommended to me by several people who have it, and I want to hear from some other people who may or may not have this model, I was also wondering if gateway is a decent brand. What can I do to get my Gateway computer to stay on? My computer keeps shutting off, after awhile of not being used. We have pictures that scroll around after so long of no use and someone changed something, and now every time I come back to do things, the computer is off. I am getting annoyed with it. Oh that little Casper! Does Casper visit your house too, you know him, don't ya, the one that gets the blame cuz, nobody else did it. Please help!
I just bought a new gateway gaming computer and I want to hook up my gamecube to it? My gaming computer uses windows media center and I have it hooked up to the front of the case and it's on and I do have a tv tuner card. Do I use media center to bring up the gamecube or how can I get the video feed to show up?
i love my laptop. it is a gateway. we were told it was top of the line. is this true? i use this gateway computer , it is a laptop in my office. i would like to buy one of my own. we were told this was top of the line at the time of purchase. we paid about $1,000.00 at the time. laptops were new. i know they are cheaper now. it has intel centrino duo and is designed for windows xp. windows vista compatable. i do not know computer jargen/ talk. i am new at this. i heard this is a good computer. is this true?
How do I connect two computers using a cat5 crossover cable? I have a gateway laptop and a dell computer which I wish to connect together for file sharing and gaming purposes. I have tried using a cat5 crossover cable with no success. I have no experience with home networking, so I need help from the ground up. A couple of problems I have encountered: when the cable is connected my laptop loses its wireless connection; the dell can see the gateway, but cannot access its shared files, however the gateway cannot see the dell at all. Any detailed help would be much appreciated
