Anyone have the number to gateway's corporate office? I called the 1.800.846.2000 number and put in my SNID number to my laptop then it said "The serial number you entered is not an ACER system, please call your manufacture." and hung up. So i called again and put in my serial number this time; they said the same thing and hung up. So i referred to website and tried to put in an email; and it said your email did not go thru... TWICE! So then i went into laptop with these lowlife Hashim guy and he helped none... he said call this number 1.800.846.200 i told him i did and it said my pc is not an acer. He said well, go to mundocorps.com and i say i dont want to... i want to talk to GATEWAY. Sure enough... he gave me the same number again... so i then went to the site he gave me and it did not have my laptop series listed.... gateway is the absolute worst place to get anything because after you pay them... you're happiness with them no longer matters. And the website, and phone number... is specifically geared to not letting you contact them or get any help... PLEASE POST THEIR CORPORATE OFFICE NUMBER... not 1.800.846.2000
Upgrade A Laptops Video Card? Hi i was wondering if i could upgrade my video card on my laptop. I have a gateway M series and was hopping to upgrade the video card so it would run smoother. I have about 4GB of Ram and a 320GB harddrive A $200 budget Im not sure if its a intergrated video card, but i hope not because im hopping to play games on it such as COD4 and GOW2. If i cant upgrade my video card what other upgrades would make my laptop run faster and smoother This is what I found about my Video Card Chassis Chassis with Intel® Graphics Media Accelerator 4500MHD with up to 1759MB of Dynamic Video Memory and Intel® GM45 Chipset11

Will getting a better graphic card help the games on my computer run smoother? I play a lot of MMORPG not stuff like World of Warcraft or anything but Free to play ones and a lot of them are super lag and don't run really well and i did a game scan and it says i have an old and outdated graphic card. I play on a gateway laptop and i think its a 2007-2008 Model and im still using the default graphic card that was already in it. I want to upgrade to the NVIDIA series or the GEFORCE series..(I don't know which one is better) but there so expensive...i live like 5 mins away from a Best Buy and they sell them but there like 150-300$ but i really want to get smoother gameplay and graphics. What would YOU recommend that i buy I want something that is efficient and still affordable i really don't want to spend over 200$ if possible.
Which Laptop is the Best? (Just have a look please)? I am having trouble choosing a laptop. I wanted a laptop that was super fast and could handle intense multimedia use (i.e. gaming, graphic art, photoshop, 3d animation, video editing, cs4, WoW, you name it!) I decided on a GATEWAY, but I've had it for like a week and it is not as fast as I thought it'd be (it cost like 600 bucks and it's refurbished). I've been looking around and came across an Hp dv5z series. It's brand new and I kinda like the specs compared to the Gateway. What do you think? Please give plenty of info on : Graphics Cards (can it handle current games? etc.. I don't want to spend more than like $650 or so. Trouble finding the right notebook? Hi guys, I've been doing a lot of research lately on the right laptop for my needs ahead of time for my freshman college year. I've been looking around for a laptop that meets certain requirements for myself, mostly under brand names such as Toshiba, Sony, Velocity Micro, and Extreme Notebooks. Other brands are good, but I'd rather not get a HP, Gateway, and Dell from a business standpoint, they just don't appeal much to me either. The trouble I'm having is due to the fact that I want certain things in the laptop that are hard to all get together. Preferably a- 2.4 gigahertz processor 2 gigs of RAM (for running that shitty OS known as VISTA) at least a 150 gig hard drive, but no larger than 200 a dedicated graphics card, preferably Nvidia that is at least a 7 series card 17 inch screen but 15.4 is acceptable If you can find a notebook that meets these needs or customize one to meet them and is under $1200 - It's a tall order I know, but I will be forever grateful! Thanks
What Laptop Should I look at for College? Currently starting to browse for computers for when I start college in the fall. Not planning to buy just yet, but I'd like to get an idea of what I'd be interested. The budget hasn't been defined quite yet, but I'd estimate somewhere around $2500. Here's what I plan to do with it: General School Work Casual Internet Browsing Fair amount of HD Video editing Occasional gaming Coding (c++) I'd consider myself a pretty knowledgeable user, and I tend to experiment and go beyond the functions of the "normal" user. Here's what I'd like to see in my computer Intel i7 - I'd prefer the 2820QM 8GB RAM At least 1 GB Graphics Card (the higher the better, but I don't want to spend too much on this area) Hard Drive size doesn't matter. At least a 720p resolution (higher the better) back-lit keyboard multi-touch mouse pad decent audio system Blu-ray drive (reader/writer preferred but reader will suffice) 3D not necessary but would be cool full sized or close to full-size keyboard 14" screen minimum Windows Professional 7 preferred Low cost/Free exterior customization Free Software or Bundle Packages Not sure which brand to go. Looked at Alienware, and then decided its not worth it. Looked at Mac and my configuration exceeds budget by at least $200. I do like Origin, but they are quite a bit more pricey than they should be, but still within budget. I also found two HP which I like. I really like the HP Envy 14 Beats Edition, but I wish the processor and the graphics card were a little better. Anyone know if they plan to update that one or release a 17" version of it? My parent's don't want me to just buy parts and build it up myself, despite the fact I most likely could, due to the fact I might mess something up and have to buy new parts. Don't have a computer shop anywhere near me as far as I know, so I couldn't have them build it for me. Could be interested in an Asus if I could configure it or find a good model, and I wish Sony had more than just the F-series as the only quad-core. Its too expensive to justify the purchase for now. I stated that I may occasionally game, but if I find a good card in a configuration at a good price, I will probably try to play more graphically intense games, but it'll help in rendering and editing of HD video and stuff. I do not want a Dell, Acer, or Gateway. Thanks! Perhaps I wasn't clear enough on this: I want a power-horse configuration. It doesn't have to the best of the best, but it has to be great. I've had computers that can't handle 1 minute of my HD video editing. I need something that can handle that on a continual basis. I make a lot of movies. A Macbook, not the Macbook Pro is not what I'm looking for. The Macbook Pro, at my desired configuration exceeds the budget of $2500 by at least $200. Thanks Jose, but still, those aren't quite what I'm looking for. The M18x was out of the price range for my configuration, plus the cost seems to favor the brand, not the components. I'm not really looking for Alienware's anymore. Don't want the Samsung, too small. Don't need something easy to use; I can figure it out. The acer is cool, but not looking for a touch screen either. Projector is cool, but not a necessity. Thanks for the effort though!
