I need help on parts for a cheap gaming PC? Hey Yahoo! Answers community, well, the question says it all. I am somewhat on a budget. I need a list of parts for a gaming PC that is probably under $1000. My price range is anywhere below 1 grand, but preferably the cheapest that I can get away with gaming smoothly. Here is some info about what I will use the PC for: Modern games like Crysis, BF3, Modern Warfare 3, etc. I will be playing at 1600X900 Resolution Preferably I would like to play games on max settings, but sacrificing some settings would be okay. (The highest I would probably pay for a GPU would be $150 - 160.) I have a lot of knowledge on PC parts and such, but as for prices I don't really know on which to pick. Also, I have another question, will there be much of a difference if I put in a Tri-Core processor instead of a quad? If so, how much? Thanks to everybody in advance. Under $700 is preferred. @Jean I have the OS covered already, so yeah.

Cheap Computer Parts to build my first PC? I am thinking about building my own PC and was wondering where can I find good cheap parts. I already know of Newegg and Tigerdirect and it still seams expensive. So are there any better websites for building PCs? Also can you explain why everyone says building a gaming PC is cheaper? I kept doing the math based on Tigerdirect prices and it's much more expensive than buying a computer from BestBuy and upgrading. I mean after the Hard drive, OS, Memory, Case, Motherboard, Power Supply, processor, DVD drive, etc. How is it cheaper?

Help me choosing parts to build a cheap desktop pc??? please? Okay, so I'm 17 years old, so don't have three million pounds to spend on a fancy cooling system, or a nice fancy i7 processor or whatever, but its coming up to Christmas and i've been thinking for a while now about attempting to build my own PC. I would like it for some casual gaming, as well as to be able to work on it for college, play some music/video, and surf the web. It would be nice to be able to dual boot Win7 and Linux mint on it - i can do that part after, though. I doubt i will be able to buy before christmas, so a lot of offers ending soon/auctioned parts, etc, are out of the question. Realistically my budget will be about £330, give or take ten pounds. I would like to have at quad core or better processor, with four or more gig of ram, and a half decent graphics card. i also NEED a wireless card. I already have a CD/DVD drive from an old tower - the rest is of no use, however. Please, if I'm being optimistic or, can't do something, could you explain WHY? I want to build a computer to learn, not just 'cause it's cheaper. So, here's a list of what i Need: Wireless card Working PC for under £330 POUNDS A list of what i would like: Quad-core processor 4gb or more ram powerful, but cheap-ish graphics card i do not need a DVD/CD drive or monitor /keyboard/mice etc Lists of parts as well as advice would be well appreciated, many thanks, Josh

Building new pc, good parts for cheap prices? I want to build myself a new computer. What are some good parts for a gaming pc? I plan on building or having my friend build a gaming desktop pc, since I've read that its way cheaper than buying one ready made.So I want to know what are some good parts for a pc that will run League of Legends, Minecraft, Counter-Strike(the latest versions), Amnesia, and a few other games. What site has all the parts, preferably for cheap. I only need good enough parts to last two or three years until I can get the top of the line parts.
Do u think buying new PC is cheaper than buying PC parts? Big desktop computers, if some parts broke or you want better system, you can upgrade by your self, buy some new parts of the system. It sounds cheap, but maybe buying the new PC can be cheaper? Every time I upgrade and buy parts, in the end I could be upgrading the all parts. If I buy new PC, all the parts will be new, which can be cheaper. CPU, OS, are quite expensive, maybe buying new PC is cheaper, what do u think. decent CPU costs like 300 dollar, and now these days, you can get decent computer for 200 to 500 bucks.
Can anyone recommend a really cheap PC that can recieve lots of upgrades? Well, generally, it's cheaper to buy your own PC part, because the when a whole PC is bought, PC companies have to focus on making a profit, so they cut back on quality, and a PC made of parts that the user bought separately and put together will be better quality but at the same price. Well, I don't want to build an entire PC from parts, so can anyone recommend a cheap PC? It doesn't matter what parts it comes with; it just needs to be compatible with high-quality parts. That way, I can buy parts and upgrade the PC. I think the compatibility comes from a high-quality motherboard, because that's where all the parts are linked together. Also, I'd like answers to have links to where I can buy a PC online.

Help with cheap PC ideas for playing WoW!? Hello and thanks in advance! My household has one computer and my boyfriend and I would like to try playing World of Warcraft together. However, we have tried as many cheap solutions as possible (trying to figure out a virtual desktop to allow two players, two mice, etc... ).. and are faced with the fact that we HAVE to buy another PC in order to do this. Our problem? We have about $400 to spend on an additional monitor (including a VERY cheap monitor.) We do not have enough spare parts to make a computer, so that's pretty much out of the question. The spare parts that I do have are very old and I don't know if half of them work because of a lightning strike that caused me to buy this PC last year. Ebay is a good idea, but every time we bid on anything... we get outbid at the last moment! Grrr :). Does anyone have any ideas for making or purchasing a cheap computer just capable of doing the basics and playing WoW? Any help would be great!!
Does anyone know a website where you can put together a pc with parts you want to get a cost estimate? Does anyone know a website where you can put together a pc with parts you want to get a cost estimate? I have put together PC's myself before. Unfortunately I do not have wholesale contact I only know the cheap stores to by parts from. Well I sort of have wholesale contacts But that involves going through a work college and when we are talking about maybe $1,000s in parts so I can have a beast of a machine and I mean a Beast as in I buy a game 2 years later and crank everything to the Max, 2 21 inch screens etc, If I can afford what I want now I will probably wait a year. My mates say I should get a IMAC as he just got one as is really happy with it, Mac's might not be as pron to crash as PC's & it is space saving But I dont know about it, the spec's ar'nt that high and I hear there not that good for games.

Does anybody know of a cheap way to remove gold from gold plated metals like copper, nickel and soo on?? From what i found on internet you have to use somekind of an acid like NaOH or nitric acid. I have access to just about every chemical so if you know of any that can get the job done, don't be shy, please tel me.lol Thanks ahead of time!
