Okay, so I'm 17 years old, so don't have three million pounds to spend on a fancy cooling system, or a nice fancy i7 processor or whatever, but its coming up to Christmas and i've been thinking for a while now about attempting to build my own PC. I would like it for some casual gaming, as well as to be able to work on it for college, play some music/video, and surf the web. It would be nice to be able to dual boot Win7 and Linux mint on it - i can do that part after, though. I doubt i will be able to buy before christmas, so a lot of offers ending soon/auctioned parts, etc, are out of the question. Realistically my budget will be about £330, give or take ten pounds. I would like to have at quad core or better processor, with four or more gig of ram, and a half decent graphics card. i also NEED a wireless card. I already have a CD/DVD drive from an old tower - the rest is of no use, however. Please, if I'm being optimistic or, can't do something, could you explain WHY? I want to build a computer to learn, not just 'cause it's cheaper. Building new pc, good parts for cheap prices? I want to build myself a new computer. I haven't done it before but i do have experience with computers (took apart a few computers to clean fans and other stuffs). I don't want to buy parts that are very expensive because i dont want them to go to waste if i fail, but i want parts that are highly up gradable so if i succeed i can upgrade it. I have Pentium 4, 3.2Ghz, ram 1GB, floppy desk, dvd tower desktop, HDD is fine but it might got old, box looks ugly,I want to Change to Athlon core2 duo, and maybe more cool box, which would be cheaper, buy parts or buy new one for about $500. or should I get used celeron desktop for $70? I'm building a gaming pc where are the cheapest parts from? I'm building a gaming rig, capable of Crysis Warhead, on max and am finding all the parts. I'm getting a Q6600, XFX GeFroce GTX 280, 8gb ddr3 (2, 4gb cards) and air cooling (some powerfull fans) anyway, how bigger hower suply should I get, what case, and what fans? (I'm overclocking CPU to at least 3ghz. And am buying the best fans and cooling case for my budget. Please tell me the cheapest places to get these parts if possible. I'm trying to keep this as cheap as possible! I would also like a sugestion for a motherboard, as I'm being over whelmed by the choice! Help with cheap PC ideas for playing WoW!? Hello and thanks in advance! My household has one computer and my boyfriend and I would like to try playing World of Warcraft together. However, we have tried as many cheap solutions as possible (trying to figure out a virtual desktop to allow two players, two mice, etc... ).. and are faced with the fact that we HAVE to buy another PC in order to do this. Our problem? We have about $400 to spend on an additional monitor (including a VERY cheap monitor.) We do not have enough spare parts to make a computer, so that's pretty much out of the question. The spare parts that I do have are very old and I don't know if half of them work because of a lightning strike that caused me to buy this PC last year. Ebay is a good idea, but every time we bid on anything... we get outbid at the last moment! Grrr :). Does anyone have any ideas for making or purchasing a cheap computer just capable of doing the basics and playing WoW? Any help would be great!!

anyone know where I can get a good cheap desktop pc? im looking for a desktop pc at a good price also I have a question about my laptop last night when i shut off my lappy it was fine but this morning when I turned it on it would blink but as soon as I get to the desktop part it self its fine, someone told me it could need to be restored back to factory? anyone can help me out there? How can you Remove Gold Plating from pc parts cheaply?? I have a bunch of gold plate pc part(cpu, pci card, hard drives) lying around in my house and i don't want to take it to some business that would do it for me and rip me off. Does anybody know of a cheap way to remove gold from gold plated metals like copper, nickel and soo on?? From what i found on internet you have to use somekind of an acid like NaOH or nitric acid.
