Gateway Laptops? Hello, I wish to purchase a gateway laptop P-6860 FX but the problem is that I've only found these laptops avaible in the US. How and where can I buy one of these In Canada (Montreal) without having to buy it online?(I want to go directly to the shop and buy it, if possible) Also I've seen that the price for this laptops isn't always the same. In the bestbuy site it's 1650$ and in the gateway site it's 1350$, which is the right one? Thanks.

Gateway laptops?? I was looking in to buying a laptop, i saw a gateway..its a 15.4" screen, has windows vista, 160 GB hard drive, and 4 USB ports..its 649.99 is that a good computer to buy?? Or not?? or do you know where i can get a cheaper mac?? cause i would like to get a mac i just dont have 1000.00 bucks to spend on one for college.

Can the battery on gateway laptops be upgraded? I looked on the gateway site and it only showed a 6 cell battery, which only gives 2.8 hrs of battery for the NV53A laptops, I was wondering if there is a way to upgrade to a 9 cell? can I purchase one at a retail store or is a 6 cell the only one available?

How good are gateway laptops? I bought an ACER laptop about a year back. Very bad decission. For the first few months was great, could play graphic intensive games EG: COD 4. But now i cant even play Age of empires 3. And if i use it for more than an hour piece of crap over heats and turns off. So i was looking at getting a new laptop, just wondering how good are gateway laptops. As in will it still be fast after a years usage, do they break easily etc. Looking for people whove had experience with them.

Can someone tell me the differences between these two laptops: Gateway® NV5810u or Gateway® NV5606u? Gateway® NV5810u or Gateway® NV5606u. The NV5810 has 2 years warranty and uses an Intel Chip. The NV5606u only has 1 year warranty and uses AMD. Warranty does not really matter to me. Can someone please explain the advantages/disadvantages between the AMD and Intel chips used in these two laptops?

Do all Gateway NV50 series laptops have the same plastic casing? I'm looking for a broken laptop so that I can take off the plastic casing and put my own parts in it. I hate all of the parts from my old Gateway NV53a laptop, and want to transfer them to a better laptop with better casing. Gateway laptop has limited access to wifi internet.. other laptops in the house work fine? My laptop (which is a 3 year old Gateway laptop) wont connect. My Gateway laptops webcam disconnects when on Yahoo Messenger? the webcam starts up alright, & the person on the other end can view me for a few seconds, then the webcam disconnects. it will also freeze at different times before disconnecting. anyone have any answers. The hinges are cracked, and a piece actually broke off! We only open it in the morning, leave it up all day, and close it at night, so it's not like it's being opened and closed all the time. Can anyone explain to me the most inexpensive way to repair a completely hosed lcd screen on a Gateway laptop? I have a gateway 15" mt6707 laptop in otherwise perfect shape except the screen is hosed. There's large black chasms all over the screen and cracks and it's just totally destroyed. Gateway laptops, etc..? I just returned a Gateway Laptop because the touchpad would freeze when I was typing and it would be hard to turn back on. don't buy gateway laptops, they break easy.? first im a certified network technician. my buddy bought a gateway laptop $1000 from best buy and thing broke 3 times under warrenty. now it broke again for the same part mother board and they won't do anything 2months out of warrenty. its a peice of crap. me on the other hand bought a $500 toshiba and the thing fricking rocks, no problems use it every day. buy sony or toshiba

how/where can I upgrade a video card in a gateway Laptop? I did the vista compatibility scan on my Laptop and it said everything was good to go. I install vista now my video card went from decent to not doing squat. Ofcoarse no company wants to make drivers for vista and companies like NVidia are releasing the only vista compatible video cards.... Basically I've never had work done on a laptop, so from start to finish information on how to change my video card in my gateway laptop that would rock.

My Gateway laptop's charger is loose and will only charge some of the time. Does anyone know of a fix? Original gateway charger fried, using second replacement charger. It will charge my other gateway laptop with same size connection fine. Tends to fall out of plug in back of computer and even when plugged in will not always charge.
