GIGABYTE Motherboards? I recently bought a new processor and hardrive in order to update my gaming computer. Upon purchase of these items they threw in a $70 motherboard for $10. its the GIGABYTE MA78LMT-S2 BOARD. I am now thinking of building an entirely new machine around this board the phenom quad core processor and my Geforce GTS 450. I play mid level games (sims, age of empires etc) and just want to make sure this is a decent board before i buy the rest of the components for the build.
Is Gigabyte a good brand for motherboards? Many people recommend Asus, but I found a very cheap computer with good hardware and a Gigabyte motherboard. So, do they make good product, or do you often have problems with their cards? Is it easy to get support and find BIOS updates? Is the G31M-S2L for a PC with a Core 2 Quad Q9300, 4gb of RAM, and a 8800GT ? Thanks
Regarding computer PC motherboards: Wich one would you prefer Gigabyte or FoxConn, and why? I'm just about to purchase a whole bunch of computers, and I have two very good offers. All the same but the main feature: one has a Gigabyte motherboard and the other one has a Foxconn motherboard. Wich one would you prefer and why? Each one of them says the other one is no good. It would be very helpful if the answer comes from someone who is either a computer savvy or who "builds" computer for a living! Thanx in advance!
Are Gigabyte motherboards good? I'm planning to buy a gigabyte motherboard for my Intel Q8400 core 2 quad processor. My additional Question: what gigabyte motherboard is good for Intel q8400 processor? Thanks..

Asus or Gigabyte Motherboards? Which company produces the better motherboards. Which do you prefer and why? I would like to purchase the intel i7 950 processor and get a good motherboard for it. I've always bought asus in the past but I was just wondering how are the gigabytes boards.
What's the maximum processor type and speed supported by Gigabyte GA-7VA motherboards? Currently using an Athlon ThunderBird 1,1GHz The system is stable but became very slow after a month or two... maby because it's very hot outside and inhouse ambient temperature is 33 degrees C So, I wanted to change the processor, and I wanted to know the maximum stable core that I can get for this motherboard(Gigabyte GA-7VA Bios F12) OH! It seems that my motherboard doesn't say the correct processor temperature, so.. I've measured the fan radiator with a termal sensor connected to a digital multimeter. It shows 52 degrees celsius. Would this really slow the Athlon Thunderbird so much??? I've had many configurations in the past that exceeded even 62 degrees C and working normally... This smells like CPU ageing... anyone agrees??? I had 2 coolers available at home... so I manufactured a "turbo one" :) by adding 2 fans one on top of the other... So... this may increase the airflow in the radiator... and maby resulting in better cooling... I've increased also from the bios the bus... so now... instead of 1,1... it shows 1,2Ghz... :D Seems to work fine until now... Hope I don't damage it ... but I need performance NOW... working on a big project that has to be finished till tomorrow... :D Anyone have better ideas on increasing the performance???
Are Gigabyte manufactured GPUs compatible with Asus motherboards? I know this is a rather idiotic question to ask, and I am sufficiently aware of the theoretical answer. Yet this is the last variable I have to eliminate in my desire to procure a Gigabyte GTX 590 and I do not want to consign myself to a purchase that will not culminate in a successfully operating PC. I would greatly appreciate any help that could be provided.
Gigabyte Ultra-Durable motherboards with all solid capacitors - over hyped or bleeding edge technology? I've been looking at purchasing an "Ultra-Durable" Gigabyte motherboard with the much hyped "all solid capicitor" design. While I am willing to assume that this technology is superior to the older electrolytic capacitor design, whats irks me about Gigabyte motherboards is that they market them on there website like they are the only ones using this technology. I have a GeForce 3 videocard that has got to be at least 3 years old now and just by looking at it I can tell they used "ultra durable" technology, i.e., all solid capacitors. Is Gigabyte the "only" motherboard manufacturer producing "all solid capacitor" motherboards?
ASUS vs GIGABYTE motherboards? I can't decide from an ASUS or a GIGABYTE motherboard. I asked a question about an hour ago about i3-550 vs 2600k, and I came to the conclusion I'll buy the 2600k. But the motherboard I have is LGA1156 not LGA1155. I'm looking at: GIGABYTE GA-P67A-UD3P-B3 or ASUS P8P67 Which would be a better buy? Would they both perform decent enough? (they both cost about the same.)

ASUS vs Gigabyte motherboards? I am looking at the new Z77 chipset mobos by both Gigabyte and ASUS but I am not sure which is better. They both seem to have the same things but are a little different priced. I will be watercooling in an Obsidian 800D case, and adding an SLI configuration in the future. Which of these two is best? Are there any other Mobos I should consider? Thanks for your answers. and Yes I will be using Ivy Bridge to take full advantage of the features. Gigabyte http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813128545 ASUS http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813131818 Also, is ASUS better than Gigabyte overall? Or does it depend on which motherboard I choose? Actually the ASUS motherboard was supposed to be this one... http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813131820 But of course I can get the other one if it is worth it.

question about the memory support in 2 gigabyte motherboards? ok so i haven't decided yet what motherboard to get ... so there's this one i like and it says 1. 4 x 1.8V DDR2 DIMM sockets supporting up to 4 GB of system memory 2. Dual channel memory architecture 3. Support for DDR2 1066/800/667 MHz memory modules so from that i understand that the memory slots/sockets support a 4GB ram ... but then i look at another motherboard and i see this ... 1. 2 x 1.8V DDR2 DIMM sockets supporting up to 8 GB of system memory 2. Dual channel memory architecture 3. Support for DDR2 1066/800/667 MHz memory modules then i realiesed... hey , there's no such thing as 8GB rams... so that means that the maximum memory to be installed on that board is 8GB... then i think again and it means ... that the maximum memory in the first motherboard is not by 1 slot... its the maximum memory to be installed on it so right now im having a serious problem i want the first motherboard because its cheap and i cant get the other one because its an amd and im getting an intel proccessor i need to know , the first motherboard (GA-EP31-DS3L) it has 4 slots and says maximum memory 4gb does that mean i can't put something like ... 4x2gb rams??? because thats what im planning THANK YOU SOOOOOOOOOOOOOO MUCH FOR ADVANCE but hurry plzzzzzzzzz people cuz im buying it this saturday :(
Is it best to load up the disk that came with my gigabyte motherboard? it's not an operating system disk and the mobo already has the bios in it, so what's this disk for? am i denying myself performance by not installing what's on the disk? is it okay to load up the disk even though I already have win 7 ultimate 64 loaded? x6 1055 8gb this thing runs slower than my old athlon with 2gb.

SATA RAID Drivers for Gigabyte Motherboard? I am trying to set up a new server, and I'm having a problem. When I tried to install Windows Server 2003, it said there were no hard drives detected. There are actually two SATA hard drives set up in a mirror. Our origional IT Manager put the computer together and set up the raid, but we never installed an OS on it, and now he's in Iraq and I'm the newbie. I did figure out that I needed to install the SATA RAID drivers from the gigabyte website to the motherboard...so I downloaded the driver, put it on a floppy, inserted the floppy, and tried to boot the server to install the drivers. It didn't work, it just keeps asking me to remove the disk and reboot the computer. Can anyone tell me how to get this driver installed on the motherboard so I can get this OS loaded and the new server running??? I did try the f6 option to add additional drivers, but my floppy disk has the .exe file on it and it won't recognize it....
