Gaming Motherboards: XFX or EVGA? Well, I'm buying a new motherboard for my gaming PC as well as 2GB of Corsair or OCZ Pc6400 memory. Now, I need to buy a new motherboard that supports dual channel, and since I love Nvidia I'm going with the Nforce 680i with SLI, if I can ever afford a second 8800GT. Does anyone have any suggestions to which brand I should get, or what motherboard I should get? Also here is my current specs: 500watt Antec PSU Crappy stock Intel Motherboard 1.5gb of crappy RAM with mixed latencies BFG Geforce 8800GT Pentium 4 3.0ghz Dual Core CPU

Where is the DVI and HDMI jumpers on the XFX 750a SLI Motherboard? I am having problems connecting my monitor, it is not receiving a signal so my guess is the DVI and HDMI jumpers are wrong, so I need to fix this. I have looked everywhere and didn't find the jumpers. What I did find was a chart on the upper left corner that says 1-2 DVI and 2-3 HDMI. I just need help locating the jumpers. Thanks
Is this true about this xfx motherboard? I was planing on upgrading my computer because my processor is terrible but to do that I need a new motherboard. I was looking at this xfx board (http://www.xfxforce.com/en-us/products/motherboards/7series/750i.aspx#1) and it says in the overview tab that "2-Way technology: Allows multiple XFX graphics cards to run in parallel for scalable graphics performance ." Does this mean that if I try to install my current pny graphics card in this it wont be compatible or if i get another card and run them in sli will it not work? So, basically will my non-xfx card/cards work with this board?
Computer is stuck on the XFX loading screen.? For some reason, suddenly when trying to boot my computer (No changes made) it stops at the XFX screen, which is the first screen shown when powering a computer with an XFX motherboard. I've reset several times, nothing. Then checked to make sure everything was properly plugged in, still nothing. Not sure if it matters but all of the normal lights the computer would have on, are on also. All fans work. Sounds as if the computer is running, but of course when you press the power button it instantly shuts off too, as if there is an error that its just not showing.

Please help me with an XFX Motherboard RMA Question? I purchased an XFX 680i LT motherboard in July of 2008. It came with a two year warranty and I have proof of purchase. I am not a novice computer user. I work on computers part-time and have an IT degree. I am having great problems in regard to a motherboard I purchased from XFX. THE BOARD I PURCHASED WAS DEFECTIVE AND XFX KEEPS SENDING ME RE-CERTIFIED BOARDS (4 SO FAR) AS REPLACEMENTS, WHICH ARE ALSO DEFECTIVE. MY WARRANTY ENDS IN JULY. WHAT SHOULD I DO? Details below. Usually I purchase ASUS, MSI, or even some of the cheaper brands (Biostar, ECS) for my builds. I have had few problems with any of them and never needed to rely on a warranty. (1) AUGUST 2008: I purchased a mother board from Tiger Direct. This motherboard had a dead memory channel. Model is the XFX 680i LT SLI. (2) JULY 2008: I contacted XFX and RMA'd the board. (3) OCTOBER 2008: I received a replacement motherboard (albeit incomplete). I used this board as a back up computer and it had very light use. The performance was never that stable. It was housed in an Antec 900 ATX case, so air flow was not a problem. (4) OCTOBER 2009: Replacement board failed. No warning. I've never overclocked it. It comes from a cool, smokeless environment and was only used minimally for gaming. It was also hooked up to a battery back-up system with line conditioning to protect it from surges. Power supply was an 850 watt Thermaltake. (5) DECEMBER 2009. I could not deal with the issue until the holidays due to various responsibilities. I contacted XFX and RMA'd the board. (6) JANUARY 2010: I received a replacement board. This board was dead on arrival and could not post to BIOS. So, I RMA'd this board. (7) FEBRUARY 2010. I received another replacement. This board has a dead PCI express slot, but otherwise works. However, because it is damaged I cannot trust it even for casual use as work station or file server. (8) It is beginning to appear to me that the company will continue to send me re-certified boards until my warranty runs out. I am not accusing XFX of this, but it is hard not to suspect this due to the pattern. I'm now on my fourth board. BOARD 1: Dead memory channel. BOARD 2: Dies after roughly one year of very light use. BOARD 3: Dead on arrival. BOARD 4: Dead PCI express slot. What should I do? Does anyone have any ideas? I've tested the board (s) with five different processors, 4 different power supplies, and 4 video cards. I've also mentioned that I've never had problems like this with other manufacturers. Please read the entire article before you post. Also, the boards are all damaged in different ways. WHICH IS CLEARLY STATED. I've tried them with a variety of memory, processors, power supplies, and video cards. Instead of assuming, make sure you read the entire article.
I have a XFX SLI motherboard. Does Dell nVidia video cards work on other MB manufacturer's? I own a XFX 680sli motherboard and I am interested in buying nVidia graphic cards on eBay because it's cheaper. I am a 3D animator and need power and speed with the best resolution possible. However, many of the cards for the Quadro FX series cards listed on eBay are so called "Dell" dedicated. Will this post a problem if I buy it and try using it on an nVidia XFX? Dell doesn't produce the card nVidia does. What I find suspicious is that the many sellers of this card do not offer refunds of any kind. There are a few who do however. Any suggestions would be appreciated as well as purchasing advice or component suggestions.
XFX Motherboard Setting Up SLI? I bought an XFX 790i Motherboard that comes with 3 PCIe 16x Slots. From top to bottom they're numbered PCIe 16x #1, PCIe 16x #3, PCIe 16x #2. I finally bought another video card for SLI and when I connected the two videos cards in the top two PCIe slots, my computer is telling me to put my Second video card into the bottom slot (PCIe 16, #2). My SLI bridge isn't long enough for this. I understand why they want me to put my second video card in the slot number PCIe x16 #2 but I dont understand why the that slot is the bottom one and the middle slot is the #3. My SLI bridge is 1/4 inch away from connecting. Is there a way to bypass PCIe #2 and default to PCIe #3. P.S. I've had this motherboard for about 2 years now. I've looked everywhere. I'm pretty organized with my Computer Hardwares and I have a good memory of knowing what I have (even small things like that) but for the life of me I cannot find a special XFX SLI Bridge, nor do I remember seeing one with package. This "You do not have the right... Version/Company/Product/Slot/Pins/etc" when it comes to hardware really jerks my chain because the information "you" always need for new technology that "you" may not know, is hidden in a cluster fu** of information. I'm saying "new technology" because it's new to me. I went to the store to get SLI and they gave me ATI's version of it that cost me 20 bucks. I returned it and they just replaced it with the correct one. An Asus SLI which cost $4 on amazon. So I paid 20 bucks for that. Then I found out I didn't have an extra 6 pin power cord for my second video card. Went back to that store and they gave me one for $12 and when I tried putting it in
My XFX motherboard shows MCP temp at 87 degree centigrade how to fix it and what is the issue? Hi, i have an XFX MB-N780-ISH9 motherboard with a ASUS 9800GTX graphics card. 2x2GB 800Mhz Transcend ram. When i first boot my system and go to the BIOS. Under system monitor it shows that the MCP temp is around 60 degree centigrade ut gradually it rises to 87 degrees. As far as i know this is toooooo high a temp. What could be the reason for this? How can i fix the issue? the board temp stays around 37 -41 degrees at idle and CPU is at 43-51 degree. Thanks in advance. for your query i have a 6x6 inches chassis FAN and added two 120x150 mm fans on the side panel.
Is an XFX Raedeon HD 6870 GC compatible with an Intel DX58SO Extreme Series motherboard? I know almost nothing about computers, and I'm making a gaming desktop. I decided that the Raedeon 6870 is one of the best graphics cards for gaming, and the Intel DX58SO is the best CPU for gaming. I am not, however, sure if the two are compatible. Does anyone know? Meant motherboard, sorry. But thanks for helping me out. Sure, go head and list em.

I would like to know a CPU fan (Zalman preferably since I hear it's great with Q6600s) that would mount without any problems onto a XFX 780i Intel Motherboard. Where is the Speaker Port on XFX nForce 680i LT? Hey, I'm using the above motherboard in side an Ultra ATX Mid-Tower. The case itself features microphone and speaker ports on the right side of the case. However, the Speaker cable contained inside, I cannot find the port on the Motherboard for it. Anyone? After talking to XFX, I have learned that there is no place on this motherboard for additional speakers/headphones. If that is one of the features you are looking for, don't purchase this motherboard.

My Geforce XFX GTX 260 Black Edition Video card is not performing as well as it should be, how can i fix it? I have recently built this system with the XFX Black Edition GTX 260 graphics card. At first, I noticed games were not running as fast as they should be. I played Call of Duty 4, and checked the fps in-game. I noticed that it was very low, dipping into the 15 range. I took off all anti-aliasing, and fps only increased by about 10. I then proceeded to run a bechmark test using the free edition of 3DMark that was included with my video card purchase. My scores for the video card were extremely low. It only recieved about a 10388 for fps. My processor gained almost 20,000 more than my video card. For what observations I made online, other peoples performance for this card were much much more higher than mine is performing at. I believe that this could be because a faulty card. I tried updating everything. And it all seems to be up-to-date, other than my Motherboard, which for some reason isnt accepting the download version to 15.23 (XFX 780i motherboard) . I am stumped, and considering just sending the card back. If anyone has any ideas or suggestions, please let me know My processor is an Intel Core 2 Duo E8400 3.0ghz and my psu is 850w ULTRA and yes, i double checked all the wiring on the card and mobo, everything seems to be firmly in place and in the right spot
