I have an old gateway laptop (1150 series from the year 2000).I upgraded the RAMspace to 198 mb.is this good?
It came with 64mb of RAM and can only reconize 198 so i bout the maxmimum upgrade. Is this enough RAM to run internet, download pictures, music, ect...?

- it'll do it...just might not be super fast. also depends on what OS you're using. My laptop has 2 gigs of ram in it. most modern systems have a gig or better. If your performance isn't good enough, at this point you have to get another computer since you maxed out your RAM
- Nowadays 198 megabytes of RAM won't let you do much, but it will work if you don't do too many things at once. You'll want at least 521 metabytes if you're running XP and 1 gigabyte if you're running Vista. (And where did you manage to buy 134 megabytes of RAM? (It isn't a power of 2, that's why I ask.))
- Pretty decent, we use 128mb and it does fine, 198 is decent, new computers are comming with 1gb atleast.
- It should be passable, just don't try to multi-task or it may cause the system to slow down. Don't try to download pictures while listening to music while browsing the internet. If you only do one at a time you should be fine. To give you a comparison though, most new computers these days have 2-4 gigs of ram or 2000-4000 mb of ram.
- It depends on your OS, if it XP, Forget it, get a new pc. And if i was you, i would still buy a new laptop, because thats awfully out-dated
