Gateway Parts

Asus M50 series laptop any good. Right now I own a gateway tablet pc that is just awefull, always overheats?

I need to purchase a new laptop to replace a piece of junk gateway which overheats all the time. How is Asus M50 series is relation to noise and heat? Anyone own one? I actually have a masters degree in computer science. The inside of the pc is dust free, I learned after I bought it that gateways have an issue with heat, even though all the reviews I read were positive.

1. before you trash your old tablet....buy one of those 5 dollar cans of spray air they sell at staples, office max or wall mart. While the computers on and hot spray like mad in the intake and exhaust vent on your computer. (intake first) There should be vent on the side somewhere and one underneath. Spray them out good and see if your laptop works better. I have found 4 junked laptops that over heated and fixed them all with 20 bucks worth of caned air. Also "repaired" a laptop my friend was going to send to dell for a 149 dollar "sytsem cleaning" Over time there fans just get clogged with shit. its pretty rare they actually stop working. As for the M50, That's a good computer but with that sweet (for a laptop its sweet) video card in it my guess is that it probably runs quite hot. What are you using the computer for? If your not gaming, you don't need powerful graffics an you can save yourself a bundle.
