- whats 25% of 280. what is 1/4 of 80. 70 dollars 280 - 70 = ? 20% = 56 dollars 56 dollars + 70 dollars - 280 d= 154 d I am wrong about part two To get 25 % of 280 dollars, I multiplied 25 / 100 by 280
- 25% off means we need to find 25% of the Printer and subtract it from the original price. 280 x .25 = 70 ( amount of discount) 280 - 70 = $210(sale price) Another 20% off 210 x .20 = $42 210 - 42 = $168 (this is the answer if we took 25% off, then another 20%) Now we check how much we get if we took 45% off, $280 280 x .45 = $126 280 - 126 = $154 They are not the same.
- K here v go... Part A: Sale of printer = 280 - (25 % of 280) = 280 - (one-fourth of 280) = 280 - 70 = $210 Part B: No. The 25% was made on 280$. And the 20% made on $210(since after making 25% off the sellin price comes down to $210). But 45% is made on $280. Hence they are not same. Part C: Didnt get your question... I think explanation for B suffices.. regards.
- Part A: Ans- $210 Part B: 25%+20% discount=$168 45% discount= $154 so, no. Part C: Ans- To find the percent of a number, you change the percent into a decimal,(45%=.45) and multiply it by the whole number (.45 x 280). To get your answer, 126 = 45% of 280.
