Buying a Dell XPS 1530, looking for some advice.?

After customizing and such, I've found the computer that fits my needs, but I was just wondering if theres anyway I could lower the price a little bit. Right now my systems running at about 1700 CAD (before tax), with for the most part, maxed out specs (minus processor and HDD). If I was talking to a sales rep, would asking for a student discount help at all? (going into University next year) or what if I bring up our loyalty to Dell, telling them how all of our computers in our house, with the exception of mine, are their own? Thanks, any help is appreciated.

  1. If I were you I would avoid Dell, they are anything but loyal. That lost that years ago. They have horrible tech support, it takes them days to get back to you and they don't even answer your question. Also they are know for having exploding battiers in their notebooks. I've talked to several people and they all agree they will never do any business with dell. So if at all possible I would avoid them. And go with brands such as HP, Toshiba, Sony or one of the others. If your looking for an notebook with windows xp on it, I know of a few places that still sell them. My mom got an very good hp laptop for 450 for her business, it works great. So just let me know and I can show you the web sites.
