purchasing computer hardware online- dead on arrival?
Like my other questions, I am planning to build a computer and beginning to buy the parts now. I'm a bit worried about the stuff I get that are DOA (dead on arrival) Is there a high chance of getting dead/ broken hardware when i buy it online? I looked at the reviews there are ALOT of DOA complaints from many customers. Does tigerdirect and newegg have any good return policies for DOA items?

- In the past the 4 years since I have been purchasing online, I have only gotten one DOA part: a graphics card. It wasn't DOA, but faulty. One of its capacitors popped shortly after installation. But this was just one unfortunate event. All my pother parts that I have ordered online have worked flawlessly.
- Newegg has a great return policy.....
- Wouldn't worry about doa's One of the main reasons dealers get as many returns as they do is because people don't take the time to read the manual that came with it. In other words, the merchandise they are returning has nothing wrong with it. If you ever have any problems however Newegg has the best rma policies anywhere.
