Best Notebook Audio Solution?

I've been using an old pro PCMCIA sound card. I recently upgraded my notebook computer and the new one (ASUS G1S) only has an ExpressCard Slot so my old card is useless (plus it's outdated anyway). What is the best sound card/device for notebook computers right now? I work part time as a DJ so having two or more 1/8" headphone OUTputs is desirable. I've been looking into the Echo Indigo DJ, which is supposedly coming out on ExpressCard format soon. USB, FireWire, or ExpressCard works for me, just not the original PCMCIA. Thanks. X-mod cards only have one headphone output and they don't stack up well against pro-audio cards; So I guess the consensus is that the Echo is the best?

  1. Hello, Look for a USB sound card from Creative. Thanks, Ian
  2. There really is no such thing as the "best" solution, only the solution that "suits your needs best." Only you know your needs, so only you can answer this question.
  3. I would say the x-fi xmod from creative. When I get enough money I'm trying to get the xtreme music since the whole x-fi line is supposed to be pretty good.
