Computer power supply needed?

I need a replacement power supply for my alienware computer. I'm very confused as there are 1000 of online vendors. I have a asus p4c800-e deluxe mother board, the power supply that's in there is a 420 watt ATX 4 pin with a 12 volt plug. Alienware gave me the specs, but they don't sell "just parts". Any help, link would be appreciated. Thanks!

  2. If you burn out this one you might wanna consider a larger unit, 500 - 600watt? Dont get the cheapest you can find. Pc Power and Cooling is a Brand highly rated for meeting their listed specs. Most units should have all the plugs you need (sata, 4 pin, 20+4/24pin, 4pin molex...There are also adapters available to goto sata from 4 pi if you need. Newgg.com
  3. You need an "ATX" type only, or it will not fit. ATX is very common. I agree that PC Power and Cooling is good. I use Antec. Both are reliable and their ratings are not exaggerated. Many other brands report power levels that they cannot sustain without burning out. Get plenty of power. If you have Alienware you are likely a gamer and likely you will add more gear to your box or overclock, and in any case keep your hardware running full-blast. Cooler supplies - ones with more effective fans - are a good idea for you. If you are a gamer, a quieter PS probably is irrelevant - you will pay more for a quieter one, other things being equal. But if you also do work that requires quiet, it is money well spent.
