How safe is Yonkers Gateway Motel near NYC?

I am planning a holiday trip for my fiance and I. NYC hotels are incredibly expensive and I saw a hotel in Yonkers (About 20 minutes outside) and was wondering if anyone has ever stayed there? It is a fraction of the cost which is great, I just want to make sure it is safe and in a good part of town. Thanks!!!

1. Mike, No. It has day rates--to me, means it is a hook-up hotel. Try quality Inns or Sheratons in the city. Search hotels.com, expedia.com, travelocity.com, and yahootravel.com. I used to live in Yonkers and this was where all the teenagers went to screw. Good luck.
