gateway 2 part eyeball help!!?

i've been stuck on this for 2 weeks now,and i can't get passed it!!! I went into the bathroom,got the mirror and the tape,when i came out,there was another robot like me (i thik it was my cousin tom in the game) but he closed the door when he went in,and now there is a huge eyeball that keeps blinking,and it's sound is annoying,so i turned down my volume on my computer.I think it has to do with something else in the bathroom,but im not sure.So please if you could help me,please......that would be awesome(considering i've been playing this for 2 weeks straight(i slept but i left it on and i slept for only 10 minutes every night,and an hour every afternoon

2. Stand under the light bulb facing the eye, then use the mirror with the eye. The light will bounce off the mirror and into the eye. There's going to be another puzzle that you have to stand under a light bulb and use the mirror to make a rainbow in a falling stream of water... If you have any problems with future puzzles, then google Gateway 2 walkthroughs.
3. In the hallway outside the bathroom, stand under the light, you'll see the mirror light up. Grab the mirror and drag it over the eyball to use it. That's it!
