- i dunno about all that but you should buy yourself Windows XP and install it fresh and then get the drivers from gateway
- Well i would just download a windows xp iso from isohunt.com, well the torrent, then download the iso, then burn it to disk with like nero or w/e you use. Then you just reisntall when ever you need to and go to the gateway site, then type in your serial and hit the drivers and downloads "My downloads" which should have all the factory preset programs and drivers that came with you computer originally.
- If you are running windows XP you should also have a default recovery. It will recover your computer to an earlier date without getting rid of files you have recently saved or bringing back ones you have deleted. Sorry if in this I sound like Im talking to a 2 year old but this is the simplest way. Open the start menu on the bottom left of your screen. Hover over Programs to open the menu list. Hover over Accessories to open menu. Hover over System Tools to open menu. Under that section you will find System Restore. Click on System Restore. Click Restore my computer to an earlier date and Click Next on the bottom right of the window. Select a date before the problem you started havin gwith your computer. If this does not fix your problem send me an email and I will run through the process of formatting and re-installing Windows XP if you have the OS CD
