Gateway Parts

Who makes the motherboard thats in my GATEWAY PERFORMANCE 1000 PC?

My PC was buitlt in 2001 and is a GATEWAY PERFORMANCE 1000. It has a PENTIUM 3 1.0GHz CPU with 3 slots for a total of 512mb of PC 133 SDRAM. The BIOS is by AMERICAN MEGATRENDS (AMIBIOS) and thats about all I can tell you about it. There are no part numbers or anything printed on the motherboard as a clue on who made it. I would like to know more about the CPU also. All I know about it is that it's a 1.0 GHZ PENTIUM 3. What is the part # and what upgrade if any can be done to this motherboard/CPU? If anybody out there knows anything about this please take a moment and clue me in! THANKS MUCH! I also have a 2001 GATEWAY SELECT 1100 with a MICRSTAR MS-6330 motherboard. It has a 1.1 GHz AMD ATHLON CPU with 3 sticks for a total of 1.5 GIGS of PC 133 SDRAM. That motherboard can be upgraded with up to a AMD ATHLON XP 1800 palomino (1.5GHZ) CPU.

  1. You would need to get a hold of Gateway...but I am sure they would not be of much help. All their motherboards are proprietary and only work with special memory, power supplies and cases. You cannot upgrade it...do yourself a favor and get a new computer. I was working on a piece of junk Gateway Performance model from the year 2000. After the hard drive and CD burner went out and were replaced, the power supply went out and it ended up that the damn motherboard literally went up in smoke. Also if you want to upgrade in the future get a computer that will allow you to with standard components.
