How do I get sound on my computer after switching out parts on towers?

I recently had my hp computer fried by lightning. My mother board was fried but my hard drive and memory were fine. I put them in a sony vaio tower that had a bad hard drive. The problem i'm having is that it keeps telling me that i no longer have multimedia audio controller. Any thoughts on how to make the sound card in the sony work with the hp hard drive or do I need to just buy a new sound card?

1. You need to find out who made the sound card and load the drivers for it. If you do not know who makes it you might try the Belkin Advisor program that is free and will tell you almost everything about your computer. When you find out, go to the website of maker, get and load the drivers.
