how much SDRAM should i have installed in my HP computer?
i have a hp pavilion 310n desktop and it says (on the sticker on the front): 1.1 GHz Intel Celeron processor, 128mb SDRAM memory, 40.0 GB ultra DMA hard drive (see box spec label for details), and CD-ROM drive 48x max. speed. I was looking to have one of my friends (who works at a computer store and can install it for me) install RAM but i dont know how much to buy and i am looking to buy some soon and i cant get a hold of him now to ask him. SO if anyone knows how much extra RAM i should buy i only use internet and some windows programs. I am not a gamer. i have Windows XP SP2 . I dont know much about RAM so if someone can please explain how much i should get and what kind is compatible with my desktop i would greatly appreciate it!! and maybe if you have suggestions for other parts i might want (because i know my computer is not the newest) feel free to let me know THANKS!!!

- 2Gb is good
- I would install 1GB Ram. The memory are cheap now so installing big numbers is not a concerning issue anymore.
- 512 or 1G will do you but before you order it you need to know what type of RAM you need and the best way i know to find that out is to open it up and take a stick out.. If its a normal sized tower then its pretty easy just make sure your in a non static area
- Your old PC can take a maximum of 512 MB of ram. It has 2 slots that can hold 256 mb each.
- This is your option. 64MB HP Pavilion/Brio PC100 SDRAM DIMM (p/n D6802A) $9.98 128MB HP Pavilion/Brio PC100 SDRAM DIMM (p/n D6382AX) $19.98 256MB HP Pavilion/Brio/Kayak/VL6 PC100 SDRAM DIMM (p/n D9525A) $29.98
- Type in your motherboard serial Number on google or check on Hp's official website as log as u have that they will give u the specs of the board and what it can handle/brand and type of memory etc.
