My HP Scanjet 5530 scanner keeps cropping my pictures when they get on the computer, how can I fix it?

It just randomly crops parts of the scan off and ruins my scans. How do I fix it or maybe change some weird cropping option?

1. I had the same problem with a Canon scanner. The difficulty was that it looked at the image and thought it was not one picture but instead a bunch of small photos on at the same time. When I looked carefully i could see dashed lines around some of the parts. When I clicked off the option called MULTI-CROP so that it would treat everything as part of the same item the problem was resolved. Check whether you are having the same issue and cancel the cropping option so only a single complete image is processed.
