What is wrong with gateway laptops?

I keep hearing gateway sucks but why? all i hear is that it sucks but not why? ONLY answer if you have had a gateway or have one

1. back when i use to have a gateway it was great...till it decided to crap out on me a few months after the warranty ran out and they didnt even try to help me fix it. not to mention the quality for the price isnt that great nowadays.
2. I loved my Gatewy back in 1994-5. They are okay. Used to be better than now, just like Dell computers used to be better. But all vendors pretty much buy same products from same maker and assemble their own version /brand computer.
3. I currently own a Gateway and i have had no problems out of it at all. I have dont normal applications with it, heavy gamed with it and i've taken it through about 12 helicopter flights. And if after all that it still hasnt given me a single problem... its probably not going to. Now as to why you have people telling you Gateway sucks... because everything sucks on the internet. The internet is basically one large forum where everyone can freely and with out ramifications express their opinions. It doesnt even matter if their opinions are correct or not. You will find people saying Gateway, Acer, Dell, Alienware, Voodoo, IBM, Sony, Apple, HP, Sager/Clevo, and every other computer maker sucks. And the truth is.... its all true. No company can make 100% of their products perfect 100% of the time. Especially in electronics. Sometiems bad builds make it off the line. Also none of these companies make their own computers... they simple assemble them. All the parts are created by the hardware companies. All the Companies do is stick it in a case and slap their name on it. Most of the time they will do testing on the products to make sure they work... but if Gateway/HP/Dell assemble 500,000 laptops in a weeks time... how much time can they realisticly give to each machine. The high end shops like Voodoo and Sager/Clevo only might make 100 laptops a week so can give ALOT of time to each machine to make sure it passes all of their tests and runs correctly. So, no Gateway doesnt suck and they make fine products... i am constantly impressed with mine. But there are times when people will get bad builds and will raise hell on the net about them. its just part of the electronics world
4. gateway is a division of Acer.... the worst computers on the planet hands down
