is a gateway laptop good?

my friend offer to sell me an gateway laptop 7210 gx laptop for 350$. is it a good deal it in good condition. but is it good deal for me. i want a computer that can record rap music that i want to make. also can it play video games like sims 2 or sumthing like that. should i buy it?? what web site should i go to find the exact kind to review it

2. i just bought a new gateway laptop from homeshopping network, it works great, very nice.
3. I would need to know more info about it. The age of the laptop, how much system memory it has and how big the hard drive is and more of the computer specs, to tell you if that is a good buy. 4. in my opinion, IBM's thinkpads are the best laptops out there. maybe you should consider that.
