- anything under $400 will most likely be nothing more than a sexy typewriter... seriously the more you spend the better. you do not want to get something that you will be complaining about 6 months later
- a laptop under $400? there are no good laptops under $400 unless you are getting it from a friend or a really good discount store that you trust, otherwise that laptop is outdated, might as well spend it on something u can use for a while and is updated
- From that list the only laptops for $400 will be. Everex Acer Getway. The rest more expensive.
- Well i was looking for a laptop also to buy as a gift, didnt wanna spend much either. Went to best buy, found a TOSHIBA laptop for $359...really good for the price, just go around stores i'm sure you'll run in.
- phillips freevent don't know about price though mine was £500-00 1 year ago but is all and more but small light and i am happy with this one
- I have a subscription to consumer reports and I can't find any there that are under $400. Then again, they don't rate EVERY single laptop either. Here are the CR recommendations: Best laptops for basic needs: • Lenovo ThinkPad T61 , $950 • Toshiba Satellite A215-S5818 , $750 • Lenovo ThinkPad R61 , $870 • Dell Inspiron 1525 , $675
