How will my new wireless PC notebook work with my current Apple Airport router?
I have Verizon Online as an ISP in my home. I have an iMac which uses Safari to connect. I am about to buy a PC notebook (probably a Dell Inspirion) that will have wireless capability. So here are the questions: 1.Are all wireless routers universal, -compatible with all wireless-ready computers?? 2. What PC internet program would I use to connect to the internet, using, for instance, a Dell Inspirion notebook? 3. Will I need to install the Verizon Online software on my new laptop in order to connect to the internet, or will my wireless computer automatically access the internet via the wireless router, without any configuration on my part? 4. Am I overcomplicating this? Thanks, Dee

- Both macs and PCs use the same wireless protocols to connect to the internet so it should not be a problem to connect a PC to your Airport. Depending on your new laptops Operating system (XP or Vista) it is simple. Look for the little computer icon on the bottom right of your desktop. right click it and select "view available wireless networks" A new window should pop up and then you select your airport network and click the connect button. Type in your password if you have a password (WEP/WPA) to log into your wireless network, And your golden. No extra programs/software needed.
