Using Laptop Screen as a Console Gaming screen...?

So I have a Gateway P-6831 and due to college, I want to use my laptop screen in order to play games without buying an extra LCD screen. So, I would like to hook my PS2 and PS3 to my laptop as a screen. I've heard of Gamebridges and their quality due to their lack of lag (based on reviews, please correct if I'm mistaken), but it's discontinued and a year old. So I was wondering if there are any other solutions that might be better than the gamebridge solution. Thanks for your input.

  1. I don't exactly know of any. The problem is that your laptop would have to be on at the same time wasting more power.
  2. This is possible but you would have to buy a laptop with a VGA input port and then get an adapter to go from the yellow video cable of the console to the VGA cable of the computer. It might be cheaper just to buy a monitor on sale than a whole new laptop. I'm looking at the Sunday ads, you can buy a decent sized one for $100.
