Is it possible to renew a Gateway laptop warranty after it has expired?

My laptop warranty expired sometime ago, but they never called to inform us of such. Is it possible to get the laptop under warranty again, or not? If so, any ideas on pricing? It's a Gateway laptop.

3. unfortunately,you can only purchase an extended warranty for products that are still under the original manufacturers warranty...cheers and sorry to be the bearer of bad news

If it was under the extended warranty, it could be renewed, but since that expired, it can't be renewed, but some manufacturers offer a seperate warranty that you can buy for a higher price than the standard extended warranty, and in my opinion are not worth it. Just take good care of your notebook, cleaning it, not dropping it, and it shouldn't matter too much. If it is broken, you could probably find a cheap $500 notebook that won't have the greatest hardware, but be usable.
