I have an old gateway laptop and the space bar and the letter m doesnt work . I was wondering why?

I have an gateway solo 1150 laptop and the space bar and the letter m does not work and was hoping to get some help as to why before I have to take it in to be looked at or if I should even bother having it looked at.

Is it not working in all application? If yes, Probably the keyboard keys had a problem
Pop the keys off and clean under them. It might just be something is jammed under them. Otherwise, maybe the sensors are worn out.
It's possible some sort of liquid got underneath those two keys. As I can see you're hitting the spacebar, I'll assume you're not on the laptop you speak of. If the liquid got under there and dried, it probably just isnt connecting and causes the system not to read the buttons being pressed. Perhaps you should call and ask if there's a way you can clean it.
Just buy a USB keyboard if nessary.....
