If you have a Dell computer do you have to buy their parts?
I really want to replace my hard drive well it's virus filled and can't take then out.... Could I buy a normal name brand hard drive or only a dell caz if I don't "it won't be full compaible" -_- why I ask dell parts cost a arm and a leg and I really can't spend ALOT of money... ^^; I wanna get a 100GB hard drive but Dell don't sell them anymore only 80GB -_- so can I use a diff. brand or no caz it won't work right with my other dell parts? - it would be better because dell has the best parts, even though your hard drive crashed
- BLAH! Dell USED to be great but they've really done a backward slide over the past 5-6 years. No, you don't have to buy Dell parts, find some better parts for your machine, you'll be happier Better yet, just put that Windows XP cd in and restart your PC. Just format the hard drive you have and reinstall windows.....good as new
- No you dont need Dell parts, you can buy any brand.
- The only thing to be concerned about would be the power supply, Dell has a proprietary design, in most cases, an off the shelf power supply will not work. All other parts are completely interchangeable with any Mfg's. parts.
- It is alway a good Idea to keep a virus program installed on you system! You can remove the virii with the help of a program such a @vast antivirus (http://www.avast.com) It's free! Dell sucks and i would prefer if you do not buy anything from them! Do yourself a favour and get a Maxtor, Western Digital or seagate hard drive! The would be much better that the stuff Dell uses! Telecommunications company used Dell for a few years and decided to throw them out, because their systems is slow an give too much problems! I would suggest you come to South Africa so that I can buil you a killer PC! E-Mail me if you need more help! lionelpcn@gmail.com
