how can I add more memory to my dell computer?
I just purchased more memory from dell.com for my dimension 2350 desktop computer. What do I do with the part once it arrives? Do I have to take the computer apart or is there someplace I can slide the part into the desktop?

- You have to open the CPU and put it in
- You have to take the computer apart. On most computers, there are two slots to put memory in. They are long and rectanguler. There should already be memory in your computer, so one of the slots will be filled. There are two clips on the end of the slot. Flick those out, carefully put the memory in, and then flick them shut to secure it. Be careful, don't touch the memory to much. Just grap the edges, not the bottom. Don't listen to the guy above me. He is messing with you. BTW, when I mean take it apart, I just mean take the side cover off. You don't have to unhook any cables or anything.
- You have to open your computer...don't worry very easy to do. Make sure power is turned off...open the case and you will see the ram slots...just plug your ram into the slot (Keep one hand on the metal computer housing to prevent a static shockto the ram)..and put the cover back on your computer. The ram will only fit one way into the slot. You cannot mistakenly plug it into a wrong slot. Computers are fool proof. Then enjoy :)
- To add to the above answers make sure you have no rings on, and there are no magnetic objects used.
