Can duo processor be installed into a Inspriron 1200 dell computer to up grade it?

What parts are needed and how much would it cost?

1. If you bought it within the last your motherboard should support it(check dell.com to see). If were talking about a desktop all the tools come with it. The processor could be anywhere from $100 and up depending on how powerful a one you get.
2. Only if the motherboard supports a duel core cpu. Duo's have a funny pin set up and won't fit in anything other than a slot made for it.
3. Unfortunately for you the Inspiron 1200 uses the 910GML chipset, which only supports the Celeron M processor, so you would be unable to upgrade to a Core Duo. Upgrading you chipset would require replacing the whole motherboard, which on a laptop would simply not work. Sorry, but your only upgrade option is to go to a faster Celeron M than the one you have now.
