How do you rate computers by Gateway?

I'm presently using HP and not too happy with their tech support where when you call you get someone in India who always tries to sell you something.

1. I personally like gateway very much.. Though I have their tech a little bit lacking... I have had a gateway for about 5 years...no problems.. Good monitor also.. HP is cheap... like all their parts.. I don't care for them much
2. We purchased our Gateway in July, and the only issues we've had have been related to the McAfee software we purchased with the computer.
3. Gateway is supposed to have good support. But to get someone in India is not an anomaly computer companies have recently gone to this type of outsourcing because of cost. I use a dell and there support seems fairly good.

Can't speek about Gateway machines themselves but support for the e-Machines (which Gateway bought) was hediously awfull and I would not buy the product again after taking 4 months and numerous calls to get the problem repaired.. A broken hinge on my laptop which broke once again.. I am scared of trying a second time to get this fixed properly....
5. Our office has not had much luck with Gateway computers. They always seem to have strange glitches beyond the normal Windows glitches. We currently have Dell, and the glitches are at a minimum. I have never had to speak with a tech rep. However, if you are really in the market for a new computer, you might consider looking at a Mac. I have friends that swear by their Macs. They never seem to have any problems, and they would never buy a PC again. If I had the money, I'd buy a Mac.
6. if you can get a custom built computer there alot better i would rate gateway relly low
7. I have a Gateway & have never had much of a problem at all. I like the product & support has treated me well. I would recommend them.
