Computer question-Gateway MT6916?

I have an issue. I am currently covered under the Gateway One Year manufacturer warranty. The alt key on the right hand side of my Laptop has broke off...I called gateway about it and they gave me two options, I could send my computer to them and they fix it, or they could send me the keyboard and I call them and we replace it together over the phone. I choose, 2 weeks ago, to do it myself with their keyboard. I received it today. Gateway scared me out of doing it myself and now are mailing me a box to mail my laptop to them. They said for people who have never done this before, it is too risky. Then, I just found out that Circuit City AND Best Buy both offer help and they can service it (if I already have the part) and they BOTH only charge $39.00 for this service. I don't know what of these four options I should do. What would you do. Would you trust gateway, yourself, Best Buy, or cirucit city...HELP ME!!

1. If you are covered under warranty by the Gateway then let them fix it. Otherwise if you go for circuit city, then you are breaching their warranty and you no longer be covered under that. That might prove dangerous if you run into some other serious problem after this.
