Is there any way I can change the screen resolution on an old Gateway Solo 5300 laptop?

It is at 800 X 600 and I would like it to be at 1024 X 768 or whatever the last number is. Please help me out, gang!

1. if you have a 15" or lower sreen size it may not be a good idea to increase resolution but if you really want to right click on desktop >properties >settings then you will be able to change it there
