i have a gateway solo laptop with a windows xp home edition and i locked my bios and forgot the password?
i heard of a method using and old printer cable and splicing some of the wires causing a favorable shortage anyone know what the wiring sequence for that? no it's a win/98

- To reset the BIOS password you need to take the motherboards battery out and put it back in.
- Yes, their is a way! You will need to open your laptop. Inside you will see some thing that look like 4 or 6 pins of metal. Two of them has a jumper (a wire cover with plastic). Remove this jumper and restart the computer. If this don't work try to place the jumper into the next two wires this might reset your bios.
