Laptop Battery Gateway Solo 3150?

My battery was getting low on my Gateway Solo Laptop. So I purchased a used one. When I put it in it said that the battery was "critically" low. So I switched it back to the original. Now the windows xp will not boot up. It starts too then the screen goes black. I was wondering if something happen switching the batteries, or if it is just that neither battery has enough power to boot the system. Thanks!

1. I would guess that both batteries are bad. Try http://www.geeks.com or http://www.pricewatch.com for a reasonably priced NEW replacement. Hope this helps
2. what you need to do is plug in your laptop into the wall but if you don't have that cord just go to any store selling computer accessories and buy a new or used power adapter for your laptop and return the used batterie and install the new one , then plug in the cord and connect it to your computer. turn on your laptop and it should work just fine. it should take 4 to 5 hourss for the batterie to charge
