Gateway Parts

My Gateway computer monitor isn't working and think it might be the power cord. Can it be any cord?

It is a Gateway 19" LCD FPD1975W. It will only turn on for maybe a quick second when I'm moving the cord around so i think it may be the power cord. Does it matter which cord I buy? I go on computer parts websites and they all look the same to me. On the plug that goes into the monitor it says "e55943" with "7A 125v" underneath. Pretty much computer illiterate and anything will help. Thanks.
