- she has altimers (I know I don't know how to spell it!!!! haha) her memory goes in and out and she could just forget where she is or anything on the spot.
- I don't remember if they said exactly what disease she had, but it was probably Alzheimer's or senile dementia. Either could make her lose memory or have hallucinations.
- she had alzheimers disease. it makes you lose your memory. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Alzheimers
- She had alzheimers.
- Allie suffered from Alzheimer's disease. When she had found out she had it, she started writing in "The Notebook". She told Noah to read it to her and she would come back to him. The "flashbacks" are where he is reading to her. She has moments of lucidity and when she forgets again, she has her "panic attacks" At one point she had told him it was a nice story.
- Allie has dementia and Alzheimer's. She remembers her past but doesn't remember specifics. He read to her every day, but hadn't read because he had gotten sick, so several days later when he went to her room that night she remembered him because he hadn't been there. A lot of the things in the movie wouldn't normally happen in real life. It's a movie about how the power of their love can do anything.
- my grandmother has this same disease. Its called alzheimer's, and that's actually how it happens. Depending on the stage of alzheimers someone is in, they can actually have flashes of memory. My grandmother does the same thing. She can sometimes remember her husband, but not always. its very sad, but true.
