- Check speaker icon in task bar make shore its not Muted
- http://ininfooo.nico.ec A very informative website, you can also get much information in website.
- Your sound card might be stuffed, or a virus may have got in and disabled it, or you might have recently installed something that affected how your sound works. Try using the device-manager to see if the device has been disabled. The quickest way to do that is to right click on My Computer and click manage, that is if your computer is using Windows 2000, XP, or Vista.
- I was so tempted to say take your fingers out of your ears but Im too tired for jokes. right assuming that the volume setting is ok and that the machinr is producing sound the question is what is happening to the sound or where is it going to I once had an experience where a program had wrongly and automatically reset a sound setting to send the sound to a keyboard device and since I didnt have one of those I couldnt hear anything until I ruumaged through the sound settings and noticed this and changed the setting back to output sound to the speakers. so left click on the sound icon and check ALL the mixer settings then right click and check ALL the windows sound settings make sure the speakers are powered on see if you can hear anything with the PCs onboard speakers disconnect the external speakers and if that restores the sound the problem is with the speakers lookat every setting in the widows control panel see if anything is unusual for example what programs and devices are being used to play diierent types of sounds it might be that a file has become corrupted you didnt say when this started to happen or what you had been doing when it did you might have just installed a game and this might need its own software to play sounds and that might be causing a conflict with your other sound softtware check the progs site and forums others might have had the same problem you can try various software reinstalls also there should be on your list of programs one called gateway recovery center take a look at that prog im too tired to say more but there a couple of other fixes i can think of email me if you cant get it fixed
