Gateway Parts

Can other parts of my computer be good enough to somehow compensate for my bad graphics card?

So, I recently bought this laptop on sale at office depot. It's from the Gateway M series, the M-6827. Here are its specs: Intel Core 2 Duo T5750 2.00 GHz 3.00 GB Memory (RAM) 32-bit Operating System Integrated Intel Graphics Media Accelerator X3100 More specs at: http://www.premiumgeeks.com/laptop/gateway-laptop/gateway-m-6827-specs/ As far as I can tell my laptop looks pretty good as far as games go. With the exception of the graphics card. Now for the weird part. I can run games that require a higher level of graphics card without lowering the settings. Games like Civilization 4 and Battlefield 2142 Northern Strike run fine on my computer. I'm debating whether or not I should get Elder Scrolls 4 (Oblivion) for my computer because I'm unsure as to whether or not I can run it without a better graphics card.

  1. Typically those games require a dedicated graphics processor. You might be able to run the game on low settings.
