Can I replace my laptop LCD screen with another brand's screen if it's the same size?

Can I replace my laptop LCD screen with another brand's screen if it's the same size? I have a Gateway M520 15.4 inch laptop and I need to replace the LCD screen. I was thinking of buying some old computers used juts for parts and take the LCD screen from them to replace mines since it would be a lot cheaper than to buy a whole new laptop LCD screen. So for example, if I find a 15.4 inch HP laptop's LCD screen, can I use that for my Gateway? Or would the screw placement or whatnot not be compatable or not fit? Thanks!

2. i doubt it if they're made by different brands.
3. Normally the screw palcement has nothing to do with it since they hole the frame only. What causes the problems is different drivers for different makers and the types of interface they use. I had two Sony computers of the same style and there were two different brands of screens. They would not interchange even with the different software drivers loaded.
4. Must be check .. Size ,VGA Cable ratio,Style,and open closed lock of the another LCD
