Computer's all very slow, any way to speed everything up, just like new?
I bought a whole new system (desktop) a few months ago. I spent around $600 on it, but I basically built it, cause I got all the best parts at discounted prices in warehouses n all, so i'm running windows vista ultimate 32-bit, and my performance level is 5.2 (thats the lowest one score that counts, my other ones are all 5.8). So, I've had it for a few months, but now I'm noticing that the response time is slower for everything, internet connection isn't as fast, start-up time, shut down, opening files, just takes longer than before. Is there any way to get the performance level up to when it was just a nerw system, or close ot there, without reinstalling windows?

- anti virus..............................
- How much ram does it have in it? Usually vista needs at least 2gb of memory to run smoothly. A simple memory upgrade may help.
- Frankly there are many issues involved here. 1. Scan your system for viruses. 2. Defragment. 3. Check if all the RAM chips are OK. That is if you have more than one. 4. Check the ribbon cables from the IDE slot to the harddisk / CD/DVD ROM. If you have a SATA cable then its OK otherwise try changing the cable. All the above actions should bring back atleast 30% of your lost power. For tutorials http://gateway2internet.com
