Gateway Parts

Which laptop would y'all pick? Gateway P-8680 FX for $925 on craigslist, or an ASUS M51TA-X2 on newegg?

Specs on the Gateway: http://products.howstuffworks.com/gateway-p-6860-fx-laptop-computer-review.htm There are 3 ASUS I was looking at on newegg: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Productcompare.aspx?Submit=ENE&N=2030260032%2050001315&bop=And&CompareItemList=N82E16834220349%2CN82E16834220393%2CN82E16834220340 I like the 17" screen on the Gateway, but the higher speed processor on the ASUS. I'd be moving from a desktop to a laptop for the first time. I'd be using it for going back to get my degree, and I'll need to run AutoCAD on it. I'd also like to start joining the wireless gaming that my friends do. I want more computer than I need, since I want it to last for a while.

  1. the asus because it has enough features that you will not have to buy a new laptop in 2 years and gateways break alot just search gateway laptop broken and there will be a ton of hits
  2. If it's between screen size and speed, then I would choose speed. Looking at those laptops it really depends on what you are going to do on it the most. Playing games requires a good graphics card as well a decent amount of memory. Also, do you carry your laptop around a lot? If you do it would be better to get the lighter one. I have also noticed that the Gateway has a lot of nice features to it, but do you really want them?
