  1. You can have a look at these decent deals for pc. http://www.dealstudio.com/viewsavings.php?deals_group_id=38&ru=283
  2. Well any Gateway would be my personal absolute last choice for a laptop or a desktop. Unless you're really hung up on a Mac, I'd shop all the other manufacturers and see what deals are out there and get the most for my money. With the Christmas shopping season upon us there will be lots of deals offered, especially with the current economic downturn. People are projected to cut their personal holiday spending my more than 25%. When you think about that number and what it means to the manufacturers, you'll soon realize that they are going to be trying to sell off inventory at most any price they can get. In fact, if you see a PC that you think is a good buy, call a sales rep for that manufacturer and see if you can wrangle a better deal. It never hurts to haggle over price. Hope this helps.
  3. On the items you listed above none of those laptop brands are ok......,,,, But I will have to give the MAC an advantage,, because it has more features and it is best suitable for work..... and some play.... (I would definitely wish that mac book would run on windows...... that would be SO cool..... ad amazing...) but for now I hate mac books not because of their hardware but because of their OS...... Which is sick and has very limited compatibility.............. I cant recommend that gateway becuase I havent personally tried it and I dont even know that there is a gateway laptop brand....... If you want to go with windows try one of these laptop manufacturers,,,, 1. Toshiba 2. HP/Compaq 3. Dell 4. Sony 5. Lenovo.... But its up to you to decide... Good Luck! Hope I can be of assistance! Take Care and God Bless.......
  4. Gateway. Mac's suck... if you haven't had a Mac before there is no point in getting use to the operating system. I think you would be happy with the Gateway. Neither would be that good if you plan on playing the new games because the processor isn't that fast. If you plan on playing games buy a desktop.
  5. Get a PC notebook, get it used, discounted or quality refurbished (not just "refurbished") and make sure it's compatible with everything (software related). I'm looking for a used one that "just works" and has the LEAST integrated parts. USB ports and hubs allow you to add whatever you'd like (blue tooth, wifi, extra usb hubs, hard disks, cd/dvd drives, etc) so if something stops working, you don't have to replace the whole laptop (some people smash or toss it out, when just 1 part dies, thats senseless and a big waste). I'd personally get one that has enough RAM and hard disk space. Almost any laptop is upgradable for hard disks, ram, cd/dvd drives, not too sure about CPU's. If your just going to use it to browse the internet, edit video, e-mail, chat, IM and work, then all you need is Ubuntu, a free, open source operating system. You don't really need windows or mac os x to do everything. Think about it. There's tons of places that offer used notebooks: tigerdirect, newegg, factorydirect.ca, redflagdeals and other liquidators. Just look 'em up.
