Sell a computer on ebay all together or by parts?

I am getting ready to sell my gaming computer that I built 2 years ago to help pay for a new computer. It has some expensive parts in it that are good quality. Should I sell the parts individually for the most profit or sell the computer as a complete system? Does anyone with ebay experience especially in computer parts know?

  1. i suggest you sell the parts indiviualy...more mula
  2. Sell it as a working package and be done with it. It isn't effective to waste your time dealing with parts one-by-one and you will probably wind up getting stuck with something you can't sell.
  3. I would sell it as parts you will probably get more money out of it. you could sell it as a used gaming computer and make as much as selling it as parts but it just depends on who is buying at the moment.
  4. When I did this, I sold the parts. I was fortunate enough though to have builders looking for parts purchase what I was selling, but that doesn't mean you'll have the same luck. You may even try craigslist.org first. There are quite a few resellers and scavengers on craigslist and you may be able to BS them into a higher price than any builder/scavenger would pay on eBay.
  5. im a ebay expert ;) YES your more likely to get more if you sell the parts seeing though there worth a lot good luck and happy selling im sure youll get a lot of watchers on things like that if possible post it aswell(use a local courier) you will get more bids and put pick up only aswell and you will deliver(thats if you can.. £1 everything 20 miles) hope that helpz ;) x
  6. Sell it as one package. Just make sure that you reformat the drive because if you have done any off your taxes on that computer you will need to wipe that clean first.
  7. i suggest whole but because it is cheaper.
  8. From my own experience(buying and selling) on Ebay I would suggest selling individual parts for a couple different reason. If it's a desktop PC a usual hurdle is shipping charges as they tend to scare away potential buyers. Not only that shipping a PC risks damage in shipment and needs to be packaged carefully. If you sell smaller parts they won't cost as much to ship therefore a greater deal for both the buyer and seller. Should you decide to sell whole I would suggest selling it without the hard drive as it's very difficult to completely wipe a harddrive of information. Either keep the harddrive and install on on new PC or destroy it. Also if you offer local pickup or delivery(for reasonable fee) you may get more potential buyers. Good luck!
