My Gateway M series laptop problem...?

My Gateway M series laptop's screen was black but the lights where still on. I tried to turn it off and back on but nothing happened. I then tried to take out the battery and put it back in, then I tried to turn it on but it didn't turn on and the lights didn't turn on. What can I do??? Please help!!!
