Where can i find a cheap laptop for under $600 thats good? Dell, Gateway, Vaio, or Hp?

4. Look at TigerDirect. My son got a good Dell Latitude for under $300 on ebay.
5. Maybe Dell, you can forget Vaio or HP. They are gonna be out of your price range.
6. id go with hp. sony vaio is more top of the line stuff, dell is minimal with their setups at that price, from what ive experienced w/ gateway they dont build stable computers in general. hp/compaq give you quite an array of options that dont give you an overwhelming price. and theyre very reliable
7. The least expensive method is to pick up one of those local trader papers at your grocery store. Usually people in there are looking for a quick sale and you can get it even lower then the price listed if you wave cash in front of their lustful eyes.
8. You first have to define 'good'. You have a budget, now you need to find something that has the facilities that you require. Be prepared, in the end, to stretch your budget a little if you have to! Don't eliminate second-hand or reconditioned.

10. If you look for a "cheap" laptop, that's all you're gonna have, a "CHEAP" laptop, but if you hold ou a bit, and spend about a 1000 at Dell.com you can get a pretty sweet machine!
11. First of all, I would not recommend a DELL notebook. Desktop, maybe, but their notebooks are trashy. Go to WalMart and pick up a Toshiba. That will be in your price range. Toshiba's tech support is AWESOME.
12. Acer is without a doubt your best bet. The great news is that Sony just bought them - so they have the Sony Crytal Brite screens!!! PLUS - Acer has a line of AMD Turion notebooks that ROCK!!!! You can find them at Circuit City and TigerDirect.com The link is the cheapest I found
13. STAY AWAY FROM SONY VAIO. Go with a company that focus' on computers mainly. Make sure to get the warranty. I bought a Vaio from BestBuy with the full warranty. It died after 6 months, best buy couldn't fix it in two weeks so they gave me a choice of any laptop in the store.
