Gateway Parts

I am considering buying a Gateway Notebook any suggestions?

I am considering buying a Gateway laptop, but I have never dealt with Gateway computers and do not know much about them or the company in general. I have not had great luck with Dell or Toshiba laptops, however, I believe it was the particular types that I purchased. I will be using the notebook for microsoft office projects, gaming, listening to music, watching streaming videos, and chatting. Anyone have any suggestions on which Gateway would fit my needs. Also, I would really like to stay around the 1000 dollar price range, but this is pretty cheap.

  1. Yeah don't, they are trash! Go with a Dell instead.
  2. Don't know!
  3. Well, $1000 is a high mark for what a normal user would need. I own a Gateway laptop and I love it. I prefer it over Dell any day. I'd definitely recommend finding one around 700-800 and then paying 200 for the insurance for 4 years. Because you can never be too safe! For 700-800 you can definitely get a great laptop these days. I paid $1000 for mine a year ago and it sells for like 699 now. Just do some research, go to Best Buy, look at some prices, write them down with the model number. Then I suggest looking at Newegg.com. You'd be surprised the price difference!

  5. Gateway is being bought out, I believe by Acer. So there might be some transition problems. I have also not heard many kind things about Gateway's tech support.
