Gateway P-6860FX gaming laptop?

Is this a good laptop for it's price at $1350, and in general are gateway gaming laptops good? If you can please answer why are gateways cheaper than other computer manufacturers? 1. Yes, that is an insane laptop for the price. Generally, Gateway has good deals for good prices. That laptop has an 8800M GTS card, meaning you can play Crysis on high, and max practically any game out there! If you're a gamer, this laptop is a must have for such a cheap price.
2. just picked mine up for $1249 !!!! and it is worth more than every penny. No Sony Vaio will compete with this laptop as far as video performance without spending at least $2000+ or any other laptop for that matter. 3D performance is the only thing that really sets most laptops apart from one another anyway. A pentium core 2 duo at 2.0ghz in a sony is the same 2.0ghz core 2 duo in a gateway. 2 gigabytes of memory in an HP is the same 2 gigabytes of memory in a Dell. Although some run at a couple different bus speeds the REAL WORLD performance difference is negligable. Fit and finish can very from one manufaturer to another (personnaly I've owned 2 gateways , 1 toshiba and about 5 different dells and the visual quality of the casing on the dell is superior to anything else I've used) 3D performance is the the only reason I have ever found to spend more than about 7 or 8 hundred dollars on a laptop. The prices on laptops has gottin so cheap there is just simply no reason to spend more than a $1000 on one unless 3d performance is important to you and and/or if you're getting a ton of extras...TV tuner....highcapacity battery.....17 inch screen....Fastest processor.....etc. Go out and compare prices I guarantee you wont find a more powerful laptop (3d performance wise...NEW) for less than $2000. By the way if your looking at other gaming laptop's video cards stay away from the 8600m or even the 8700m the performance on those is about half (or worse) of the 8800GTS and will cost you at least the same money or more (mostly more) than the FX.
