replacement lcd for gateway laptop?
I've been given a gateway laptop (model MX6025 I think) that has a cracked lcd screen. It's a great laptop with upgraded memory. I'd like to keep it, but I'm not sure where to go for the cheapest new lcd screen. Or if I can order it online and try to replace it myself. How hard would that be? Any suggestions?

- Replacing the screen would be very expensive (if you went to gateway or a repair shop). It would be as much or nearly as much as the system its self. My suggestion is to hook up a regular monitor to it and use it like that. If you want to try to fix it goto ebay and search you'll need the correct model number. Replacing a screen is not too tough but it is a very delicate job. The screen is held to to inverter using thin film cables you need to be very careful with the plugs on the cables. Opening up the shell is the hardest part. Oh yeah you'll need a small phillips screw driver if you use one to big you'll strip the screws for sure, and a little pocket knife to open the shell (snaps) and you'll need the knife to gently pry the plug from the inverter. Hope this helps. Looks like it'd be 295$ from the link from the other poster. Great video though!!
